One of the problems if you ever visit Copenhagen is the price of hotel rooms, which can be on the verge of extortionate. Having been a visitor to Copenhagen for some years now, I have stayed at various hotels, including some other 'budget hotels' which are some of the smallest rooms ever seen. I decided to try Wakeup Copenhagen since...

I booked a large room at this hotel and it was one of the smallest hotel rooms I have been in. The bathroom has frosted glass walls toward the bedroom and is very small also. The breakfast lacked several items that were available in all other hotels we've stayed at - for example, no bacon, no toaster, etc. Not bad...

This is a modern hotel about 10 minutes walk from the Central station and Tivoli or 2 minutes on the very frequent 11a minibus - which calls by at most of the central Copenhagen sites. We found it comfortable enough for three nights - might have been more of a struggle for more as the rooms are quite compact. Good...

This Hotell is very modern and bright! Our room was vey small, but it worked out good! This is a low budget hotell, but we payed dobbled because they were almost sold out at every hotel. But I think it was worth 1500 dk,- for one night! We got a great view, and a good bed! You did have to...

Rate was very affordable when compared to other Copenhagen hotels. Room was very small but functional, and the hotel had air conditioning, which was key since the temperature was in the mid 80's when I was there. Staff was friendly and helpful, but they refused to let me in a room before 3pm check in time even though I do...

If you are on a budget this hotel is for you. Overall, it is excellent value. The rooms are very clean albeit a little small, but very modern & usable. The only thing missing is a fridge....(but that is me). It is approx 15 mins walk from city centre & 5 mins from Central Railway Station, Tivoli Gardens, a number...

Stayed here for four days in May - for Eurovision in Malmo and general sightseeing. Hotel is really close to the train station/Tivoli and well served by buses (though we walked almost everywhere). Hotel room was small but clean and modern, we had the breakfast one morning - buffet style, boiled eggs, cold meat, cereal, toast etc. All in all,...

"You're going to stay there?!?" said my colleague, looking quite distraught. "Sure" I replied, "it's great value, close to the trains..." "It's so small and cramped!" she cried. The story is simple, I wanted to stay one night in Copenhagen (where I've been 4 times in the past year) on my way home to my house in Skagen, for the...

In a pricy city like Copenhagen, Wakeup is definitely a good deal - nice, basic rooms and walking distance from the center. Staff at the reception seemed a bit bored/distracted but I guess that this may happen in very busy hotels. Overall a good option for a short getaway.

We stayed for 3 nights in July, the hotel is clean and bright with plenty of modern fittings. The rooms are small but how much space do you need for a short break? The location was good close enough to the centre to be just a 10 minute stroll away from the sights but far enough away to be quiet...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
