I've been to Volos for a conference and was looking for a cheap place not far away from the conference place (University of Thessaly, Dept. of Architecture) and the city center. The location was perfect: -the habour and the pier with a lot of restaurants just around the corner -a 5 minute walk to center and pedestrian zone with all...

Definitely average and clean-ish. Great location, but in our room, shower was broken, beds were unconfortable and breakfast was terrible (just a piece of ham and cheese, with one egg and piece of stale bread).

Actually not simple snoring was with my wife and kids and could hear next door couple all night long talking etc... I was amazed... Anyway, nothing much as a hotel, a very low cost place to stay. Secure, nearby to all etc...

I booked there for my family as they came to visit me to volos city , the hotel is good for the prices per night. The hotel is on iasonos street, a very busy street so if the room you booked is above the central street it is noisy, but we have asked to change as room and they did....

I really liked this little hotel in Volos. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked through booking.com and got a great deal for 2 nights in the off-season--the whole process was very simple. The hotel is in a great location in the city center, close to the harbor and many good restaurants and within walking distance of the...

Basic but comfortable. Well placed for ferry and local restaurants etc. I would stay again if passing through en route to Skiathos and the Sporades. Breakfast not included. Helpful reception staff and very limited bar facility. Short walk to bus station

My room which I was told was the last available smelt badly of cigarette smoke and had an ashtray in the room. The fixtures and fitting are tired and dated. The receptionist who dealt with me was keen and courteous. Did not stay for breakfast. Harbour is nearby with multiple eating choices.

I recently spent 2 nights at the Avra. The room was clean, breakfast was excellent for just 5 euros. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone vistiting Volos or the Pelion area.

I have stayed at Hotel Avra for only one night, on my return from Skopelos. The main reason for choosing this location was the proximity to the port (less than 5 minutes) and the low prices for short stays. When it comes to the rooms, they offer exactly what they are supposed to: good places to sleep, cleanliness, air conditioning....

We stayed for a couple of days in May 2012. The hotel is very well located, near the centre of Volos and the sea promenade and the port - very convenient for traveling by ferry to the beautiful islands of Skiathos and Skopelos. The hotel has everything one needs for this class of accommodation - no complaints at all. The...
