The Hotel is situated in one of the main streets of Ioannina, facing an open area. Parking is included in a new secure underground car park almost opposite.
The ground floor has a small reception, with a large stylish and very popular Cafe/Patisserie . Breakfast is taken here with a good choice of the usual things plus traditional Greek items.
Rooms are on the upper floors ,there is a lift, and were recently updated to include a
TV, Telephone, free WiFi, Air Conditioning, and a Refrigerator. Rear rooms have no view but front rooms face the street and park.
It is a bustling street ,with many shops, cafes etc, and leads down to the old walls and lakeside, very popular in the evenings with local people of all ages. There is a great atmosphere, it is very entertaining, and even quite late at night I felt safe walking around.
Town centre hotels don`t suit everyone but if you want a real taste of this part of Greece and its people you will enjoy it, and do be tempted by the beautiful cakes, pastries ,chocolates, and ice creams in the cafe. I was sorry to leave!

I stayed in ioannina for 2 nights to go trekking in the vikos gorge. I read a good review on this site I think about the hotel and the pictures showed the rooms to be very modern even though it was classed as a 2 star. So i'd thought i would bite the bullet and book it. Was a great decision. The hotel was centrally located so easy to walk to restaurants, castle and the main shopping street. The room looked exactly like it did on the internet, very modernand clean, the bathroom has a few broken tiles but this didn't detract from the cleaninless and trendy appeal of the room. Free wifi in the room was a plus. Breakfast was included and was very substantial for a 2 star. This was served at the adjoining cafe next door which was stylish and served excellent selection of ice cream and cookies and other sweet treats -it was also open till late, handy to satisfy any late evening munchie cravings!! Bathrobes and free water was also provided in the room. Generally I couldn't fault it. The owner didn't speak a word of english but other staff did so didn't have many communication problems. The staff were also really lovely. Would highly recommend it.

Although this hotel is in the busy city it offers such a lot to travellers. There is free wifi, free underground parking just across the road and the breakfast is excellent served in the adjoining Cafe/Patisserie, that is accessed direct from the hotel.

The rooms were modern and nicely furnished with modern bathrooms ensuite. The views were not great, but who wants to sit and look out of their window when you can get out and walk and see it.

We stayed for 2 nights in September, and would definitely return again. We had driven from the port of Igoumenitsa and arrived in the dark. It is not very easy to find in the dark, when approaching from that side of town, and driving, but after asking directions we eventually found it. T?he family were very friendly even though we interuppted them watching a major football match.

Incredibly good value for the price we paid. Perfectly located, it has newly refurbished rooms and bathrooms, includes a large, tasty breakfast, and the staff is top notch. Would gladly return, especially since Ioannina is a great little city.

We had not made an online booking so we opted for cash payment. The owner of the hotel made us pay more than the price that the hostess at the check-in gave us.
The worst part is that he started shouting and cursing in Greek, (no-one could speak English and it was very difficult to communicate with anyone...) so we started using the language of signs as we could not understand what his problem was. The experience was horrible!!! All the other guests were staring. Apparently there was a miss-understanding between the hostess and him, but he did not call her and continued yelling (always in Greek). I had never been treated with such rudeness in any hotel in my life! An believe me... I have traveled a lot.

At first site walking into the hotel rooms, they seem luxurious; the bed, the bathroom. Taking a better look you see that the towels are worn out and the bathrobes are dirty (definitely been used and not washed). There was no hot water in the morning in order to shower and although breakfast is served in a lovely café next door (same owner) and you can find freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh mixed fruit juice, you better go early because they do not refill platters. In fact a couple that walked in after us asked “is this all the food?!”. The location is great but that’s it. If I were to go back to Ioannina (beautiful town), I would not stay at this hotel again.

My stay at the hotel was excellent. The hotel is located totally centrally in the city of Ioannina. The room was spacious, the bed very big and extremely comfortable, very clean, and the bathroom renovated. The breakfast is really what you need for a good start at work with a variety of hot and cold tastes. It is very positive that you can have any coffee you want and it is included in the room price. The staff in both the restaurant and the reception are kind and helpful. Do not miss to buy some candies and delicious sweets from the patisserie of Bretania. They taste great! It was a really great stay.

Hotel Bretania is maybe the most historical city hotel in Epirus. Its main advantage is the pastry shop in the ground floor of the hotel. There are delicious cakes, wifi, and very friendly personnel.
It was an old Ottoman builiding and now a central hotel. Worth visiting it.

We had a great experience in this hotel. We had a great communication with the owner, because it wasn't fully accessible for the wheelchair.
The location was good, the food was lovely, and the staff was kind. The decoration is beautiful and modern.
