My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 4 weeks in September/October 2024. We chose the hotel as it appealed to us as a family run hotel rather than the larger 5* hotels that surround it. Our first room D7 looked onto a little courtyard area which was pretty, however, it was shaded all day, and you were looking directly at your neighbours. We asked if it would be possible to move as we were there for an extended time and the reservations manager was so accommodating and friendly. We were given a choice of rooms when they became available 3 days later and opted for F3 which was at the bottom of the private villa, it was far bigger, and the bathroom was more modern. We requested a mattress topper for the bed and found it really comfortable for our stay. The unheated pool was empty most of the days until mid afternoon and there was no issue getting a lounger, no-one 'reserved' beds with their towels. I actually found it more enjoyable beside the small children's pool as this was not used the majority of our holiday and had the comfort of shade from the trees. Our stay was half board and we found the food was very good quality and plenty of options daily. The outside bar was closed but you could order drinks that the staff would bring from the adjoining restaurant. The hot drinks were available at breakfast but not in the evening, there are kettles and cups and saucers in the rooms as well as a fridge. The staff were very nice, some more chatty than others but all equally polite and approachable. There is one bus a day in each direction from the stop outside the neighbouring hotel, a 3 minute walk at max. The bus to Hersonissos cost 2 Euro in each direction and continues on to Aghios Nikolaos. The tour booking shop next door has very competitive prices and we found some much cheaper than with our holiday booking company. For those that enjoy watching television, the ones in the rooms have limited English speaking channels, just the news ones but the internet connection is good enough to stream programmes onto portable devices. The housekeeping staff were very cheery and friendly, they work very hard to keep the rooms clean each day. We very much enjoyed our lengthy, totally relaxing stay and were pleased with our choice of hotel and location. There were many nationalities at the hotel over the course of 4 weeks which may account for fewer UK reviews.

We stayed at the Anna Maria Hotel in August and I must say that the value for money is really excellent. Compared to many other structures in the area, here we found a much more advantageous but no less valid solution, on the contrary: the hotel is delightful, surrounded by greenery and quiet, ideal for couples and families; the buffet is fairly varied and offers many interesting Cretan specialities, large and clean rooms, swimming pool and hydromassage. Very kind owners, always available and approachable, definitely recommended

Extreme kindness of all staff and great welcome. The location of the village is great if you are looking for a quiet place without the night caciara, but still 2 km from Chersonissos where instead the nightlife is very lively. August is windy and the sea of the north coast rough and with a lot of posidonia. The cove of Anissaras (Saradari beach) is protected from the wind and the sea is almost always calm and crystal clear. The breakfast and dinner buffet is rich and varied with many things typical of Greek cuisine. Excellent meat, soft and tasty. Thorough cleaning of the room. Structure highly recommended.

Pros: Fantastic beaches only 10 minute walk Good shop on site Personal space was good with patio or balcony Cons: Very little on your doorstep, we ended up paying between €20-€30 each night for a taxi to a surrounding village for meals and drinks. Had very little interaction with staff - not even a hello in a morning - with exception of room cleaners and gentleman with dark hair on the desk, note they did talk to some people (maybe regulars?) Sheets and towels were not changed after Monday until we checked out Friday Breakfast not bad, not great but did feel like a bit of a cattle market trying to get it. Cannot get any drinks or snacks at the pool, have to leave and go to restaurant at the roadside

Very nice and cozy hotel. My husband and I were very pleased. The food was very good and a lot. I still remember that moussaka very delicious 🤤 The food area very clean. The staff very respectfully and paid attention at details. We had a promo room (like an apartment), not the best quality if you are spoiled but very very spacious with two balconies, small kitchen with oven, and a spacious bathroom. Everything very clean. The clean ladies were very respectfull and they were cleaning everyday. The piscine clean, and the atmosphere very calm and quite. We relaxed very much. The beach is 10 min away. You have 2/3 choicees of beach. We loved The color of the water very much. You can walk to Chersonissos like 25 minutes along the beach is a road. And also you have Lidl at 20 minutes walk from hotel. If you want to buy something else is very useful. The kitchen chef cooked something for my husband in the first or second day because my husband is sensitive at some foods after covid19 and the kitchen chef was so nice to cook something different for him in that day! We were very amazed by his kindness. And in the last day on departure we ask to make us a small breakfast package and they put sandwiches fruits and juice/water. Very kind people. Your staff is precious. May God Bless you. We had a nice stay.

We booked this hotel after looking at a few different hotels in the area. We liked it because of the location. It's close to some nice little beaches that have such lovely calm and shallow sea. It's got a standard shop next door which has most things you need. We used this shop a lot and found it quite useful. There's also an excursion shop next door that had decent prices for all the major trips on the island. The lady there was really friendly and spoke good English. The staff are all very friendly and work very hard. We went halfboard, so we had breakfast and tea included. Breakfast was quite nice and filled us for the majority of the day. Tea was nice on a night. There was always something to eat. Lovely pool area that was quiet throughout the day, with no issues getting a sun bed. We did walk to Hersonissos Harbour from this hotel. It took us around 20-25 minutes to walk from this hotel. It is doable, but if you can't walk far, have limited mobility, or struggle to walk in the heat, then it's not the best walk. It's much easier on a night as it's much cooler. Alternatively, you can get a taxi, which the hotel will call for you, and it will cost around €10. It's such a nice little hotel and is somewhere I'd definitely return to. I don't really have many quams about the hotel. The hotel is clean and a pleasure to stay in. There's also some lovely resodent cats, and as a cat lover, I say this as a positive. The only issue from myself is that it can get busy with children. Some were very noisy and disruptive during breakfast and tea (no fault of the staff). Obviously, if you've got kids, it's great, but some days we found it was busy around the pool area, but we went out elsewhere a lot anyway, so it's not really an issue. If you're looking into this area, definitely give this hotel a chance as we really enjoyed it!

We spent a lot of time looking at islands, flights, resorts, hotels and reviews before selecting Anna Maria Village via Jet2 (flights from Bristol, hotel reviews and predicted weather and temperatures). We have not been disappointed. Arrival on our first night was after dinner but we were presented with a picnic bag that was acceptable. The bar was open and friendly, as was the excellent next door supermarket. Check in was easy. The room perfect. Breakfast is self service with cereals, cold meats, cheeses and cooked options, all good. We have explored well. Hersonissos is about a 25 minutes walk along the fairly quiet coast road, easy. There are a couple of bars and restaurants along the way. We walked to villages of Koutouloufari and Old Chersonissos. Both lovely and charming. We were half board, eating out at lunchtime. A great selection of cold and cooked foods included for dinner. Service has been excellent. Grumbles, absolutely none! Would we come again, definitely YES!

Really recommend this place. For the price we got it lets say it was more than perfect. Nice environment, clean room, friendly staff. The only thing about food, there were no pancakes or waffles for children in the morning during 7 days of staying. Could be better breakfast. The location not far away from Chersonisos, you can walk by the sea to the city so you dont feel the distance with such a wonderful view. There are quite a few public beach places not far away from the hotel.

We, a family of 4, with two children aged almost 7 and just 9, had a great time for a week. We had some difficulty finding the hotel itself. But once you've found the green bar, you've also found Anna Maria village. It is small-scale and the staff is downright friendly, hospitable, incredibly helpful and respectful. The rooms are kept clean and the beds are nice and sweet. We had half board, the food was varied with meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The rooms are spacious and you can sleep separately from your children, which we like. The view is beautiful, the swimming pool is basic but very good for the price. There are several beautiful beaches within walking distance and the sunset from the chapel (10 minutes walk) is definitely worth it!

Room Tip:Huur een auto, dat is de beste manier om Kreta te verkennen. Naar het zuiden en westen is best...

I higly recommend Anna Maria Village. We visited the hotel in May for our wedding, we stayed there one week. The hotel is located in Hersonissos, about 30mins by car from Heraklion. The rooms are really nice, cleaned shiny everyday. We had there breakfasts and dinners as well. Everyday there was a big variety of food, which was delicious and a way better from the others hotels which we have visited. Especially on the dinner, which in my opinion is worth to take as you stay there. You can try the greek food and also seafood. There were always several main dishes to choose, some sweets, fruits and other. The service was really great, starting from the barman and finishing with the waitresses. The view from the hotel rooms is nice. There is the swimming pool available as well and the hotel is located only about 10mins by feet from the seaside. The nature which is surrounding the property is beautiful with many flowers. Late check in is not a problem - you just need to let the owner know about it. The hotel is being managed by an amazing family, who can help you with everything what is needed. Manolis did everything for us to have a comfortable holiday and made us feel that we are friends from a long time. Thank you once again for everything! Ευχαριστώ πολύ, όλη περάσαμε πολύ ωραία! 😊
