TUI SUNEO Chrissi Amoudia garners appreciation for its charming village ambiance, complete with delightful entertainment and a tranquil spa setting. Guests commend the staff's friendly and attentive service, though a few instances of unprofessionalism are noted. The hotel's cleanliness shines through in its well-kept gardens and pools, and the variety of food options available. While the rooms are praised for their tidiness, some suggest they could benefit from an update. Opinions on value are divided, with concerns about extra costs and the need for modernization.

We had a great family vacation at this hotel.

Room: Based on the comments, we requested a renovated bungalow and obtained it and we would like to thank the head of reception again. The bungalow was modern, clean with a nice bathroom. In terms of cleaning, it all depends on who cleans your room on which day... We've had everything from sloppy cleaning to very good quality.

Swimming pool: We found that only one swimming pool was limited given the number of rooms in the hotel and this defect forced us to set an alarm at 7:30 in the morning to have a chair at the edge of the swimming pool because some people put their laundry and leave for the whole morning unfortunately...

Restaurant: We generally ate quite well in the hotel restaurant. Two faults in my opinion, not enough typical Cretan dishes and a little repetitive all the same.

Entertainment: Big problems in terms of entertainment... Only 2 entertainers for a large hotel. The mini club was therefore a little abandoned because the two leaders had to juggle to offer activities. But what upset us the most came from the head of entertainment (Weebie) because already the evening entertainment is not great (difficult to do better with two people), Weebie made a scene for us when he saw that we had several cards to participate in a Bingo Musical Quiz because normally it is only 1 card per table but we were placed with two other families that we had met during our vacation. He refused to let us play on 3 cards even though our 3 families had paid for an all-inclusive vacation... It was disgusting and he ruined our very last evening at the hotel.

Beach: Only 10 minutes walk from the hotel but not great.

Well we stayed here for 10 days just returning ( 12 may) this hotel is brilliant great selection of food and drinks (including hot chocolate), we went with our 8month boy who is weaning he’s tried a variety of food and me and my partner enjoyed it all including the snails food was vastly available all day from morning breakfast midday snacks and evening meal we did not go hungry! Ice cream cones were the biggest hit with our boy!.
the rooms are well kept and immaculate there is a fridge in the room but no tea or coffee although a kettle can be provided if ask at reception our room has an amazing view - sea to one side and Mountains to the other (photo) only thing I’d change about the room was the marble steps not great in the dark !
the staff are all very polite and helpful, entertainment during day was limited but the have only just opened for the season…
Pool area and gardens are lovely and tidy the shop on site is so handy and there is a spar further down the road along side a sports bar for your sporting needs
The beach is a short trip down the hill and the land train and buses pick up from outside the hotel to take you to the local towns, there is a car rental service guy situated in the hotel also. We stayed in the main hotel upstairs
Although we did not have a beauty/spa Treatment the ladies were lovely and polite

The only things we struggled with were the seating in lobby we had rain and it was always a struggle to get seating inside although there are two shelter areas outside, there steps up and down from the dining hall were a little struggle with the baby pram, although there was a ramp but had to walk around the outside of hotel to use it.

Would defo return 5* from us

We have just returned from a week's stay at this hotel and there are a few pro's and con's to this hotel.
Firstly the staff were all friendly.
The pool guy was brilliant would always say hello and help people find beds.
The family that own the on site shop were really friendly and always happy to help and there isn't much they don't sell.
The food is OK and lots to choose from although my son was a little fussy on trying different things.
Unfortunately there isn't much of a system at meals times and it's a free flow so people bumping into each other.
We booked a sea view bungalow and had to pay a little extra for it.
The view is stunning and worth the bit extra.
Unfortunately it is not a bungalow and the Balcony is not private at all!!!
They are not noise prove either especially if you have a young family.
Most nights we could hear the neighbours outside drinking and smoking and Scraping there chair's.
The rooms are always cleaned everyday apart from Sundays.
We found sunbeds were ok to find each day and there was only 1 day we really struggled.
The beds next to the pool are always taken everyday but we found a little spot just under a tree which was perfect for us.
There are plenty of trees which came in handy when we couldn't get a Parasol.
My son loved the kids pool and the slides.
But the main pool was far to deep.
There isn't much near the hotel especially if you like to go out about but we found a nice little sports bar just down the road from the hotel and it's a lovely little place were you can watch the football ( if your a fan obviously) as the owner had 4 TV screens and had multiple games on at 1 time.
They also do food and cocktails.
We spent a couple of nights down here watching the sunset.
The hotel doesn't really cater for the English and found there was alot of Germans and Polish when we arrived and only really found a few English familys towards the end of our stay.
We later found out alot of Germans actually live there which explains alot!.
Overall it is what you make it we still had a lovely little break away.

Just returned from another fabulous 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. Yet again all the staff made us feel at home. Giannis at the pool bar was as usual superb and Zak the security guard excelled as always. All of the staff treated my wife and I like family and they really are the hotel's biggest asset - special mentions to Yiannis, Manolis,Kostos and Atillio the entertainment man to name a few. The room was always cleaned when requested and the food for me was very nice but not so much for my wife (who is vegetarian and for some reason snails were in "Vegetarian Corner"). A few little niggles however, like the room tax which had virtually doubled since our last stay to 98 euros payable on arrival and there just seems to be little cut backs here and there which is a shame. That being said there were still the nice touches of water, wine and fruit in the fridge and the usual olive oil on departure. All in all still a beautiful hotel and a place we will continue to visit twice a year.

We had a nice stay as mother and son ( 11yrs ) at this hotel but it does have its ups and downs . First for the positives. The general areas are really lovely and well maintained , due to the time of year it was very relaxed and absolutely no sunbed wars ! quick service at the bars and no craziness at meal times . 99% of the staff are lovely and work incredibly hard to keep everything going and the food for a 3 star ( as per the tui rating as opposed to the hotel rating - its definitely not a 4 star ) is nice with good variety - probably not great if you are any sort of vegetarian or gluten free etc but for meat eaters all good . We stayed in a bungalow with a nice little balcony and view of the sea and gardens . There was a one man entertainment team ( due to the time of year I assume ) who worked tirelessly - join in or not its totally up to you and un-invasive if you don't fancy it .

The downsides - the rooms are dated and really need refurbishment , especially the bathrooms , threadbare towels etc . Clean enough but looking like they have had a hard life . The beach is a max 10 minute walk and pretty enough but the sea is full of rocks so not that easy to swim in but the biggest downside are the drinks - there is nothing branded at all on the AI package , which for the alcohol you just kind of deal with breathing flames but the entire range of soft drinks really are horrible - pop over to the spa across the way and grab a few bottles to keep in your fridge would be my advice !

Over all my expectations were pretty low as picked this up as a last minute deal for a really low price and I was pleasantly surprised in most areas - paying top notch August rates would possibly not be the same story .

We were kindly welcomed at reception. The suitcases were brought to the room by a very friendly man who always had a smile on his face.

Our room was right next to the pool and sunbeds. The room itself was good, but the water in the bathroom after the shower did not always drain properly. The beds are not hard or too soft.

Food and drinks were varied and good. The gyros while walking in the restaurant is highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is a bit remote, but we knew that, you could get anywhere in no time by taxi.

The animation team consisted of 2 girls and Attilio. We didn't see the two girls much. Attilio, on the other hand, regularly came for a chat and created the atmosphere during the activities. Oppaaa Oppaaa

We are currently here last two days of a 14day holiday & we have had a beautiful time lovely friendly hotel & no reason not to come back. Food is lovely fresh & varied, we have had a few night out dinning in other restaurants to experience what was around. Beautiful meal at The Big Blue which is only 3min walk out of Hotel turn left & its in front of you at the crossroads really worth a visit. Harbour & Port is a 45min walk lovely walk along the coast road all downhill going so we got a taxi back 10 euros. We did this several times full of bars, restaurants, excursions & shops well worth a visit out of Hotel turn left then first left at The Big Blue & follow the road. There is a beach & beautiful Prom 10min walk, out of Hotel & turn right lots of hotels shops & bars little churches, another lovely walk. There is a trolley train bus stop just out of Hotel that does a 2hrs tour takes you along beach up to Old Town where you can hop on & off train they come every 40mins, well worth getting off some amazing building & old Greece Taverna's, fabulous day out. Hotel has a great pool bit cold 🥶 at the moment but when your in its ok, I floated around on a sunbed most of the time, you can get these at the Hotel shop which is run by a friendly genuine guy.I found his prices cheaper than out & about so we used him alot.Hotel does not supply pool towels so need to bring your own or shop sells them. Rooms are cleaned every day except Sunday so make sure you have towels u need, if you want clean towels leave on floor & you be left clean,we didn't do everyday as no need. Drinks I found the cocktails & wine very nice didn't like their vodka or mixes so I bought my Smirnoff with me & bought coke from shop, hubby found he could drink the local stuff so give it a go its probably just me. All in all it was a fabulous holiday great value, faultless staff, very clean Hotel although dated in places but adds to the charm, would I come back? Yes I would.

Family Pension , without entertainment except for foreigners and children (this is not what we were looking for )
Quid pro quo on arrival because payment and Reservation of a Quiet Bungalow and on arrival we are sold a room with sea view the best so-called (opposite the elevator and above the bar) because there was no Bungalow. After an exchange with our travel agency and a return to the reception the next day we found a Bungalow for Saturday nine sea view to make up for this change and I invite you to book a Bungalow sea view or garden for its tranquility and beauty
Pension large enough, the pool is popular the deckchairs booked in the evening by holidaymakers having to spend their holidays on it I persist in saying that the Pension must manage this by removing the towels in order to allow all its holidaymakers to find a deckchair , many people have scraped not to mention the detritus left by holidaymakers picked up by employees several times a day
We preferred to visit Crete 15 days by renting a car from the company present in the Inn which allowed us to discover Crete and its hinterland , get to know the Cretans while enjoying the sea , beaches and coves very friendly and the hinterland
Breakfast is well stocked for meals I find too fat and unappetizing, desserts apart from fruit are too gelatinous, cheesecake... but it's personal, the meals we had for 80% off Pension were delicious
Cocktails need to rebalance too much sugar and chemical juice
The employees are friendly and brave out of season this Pension would be more friendly
I recommend that families not looking for entertainment and couples come out of season
For us it served as a drop-off point for lack of time and searches for less family hotels
My conclusion beautiful Family Inn with actions to take
English is essential even if you have 1 person speaking it more or less
Discover Crete it has surprises to offer

We absolutely loved our stay here. Our family had a bungalow, the cleaners were amazing and everyday came in and changed our towels and freshen the place for us. The bar staff are just amazing, they are so personable, getting to know you and what you enjoy drinking. The food is cooked fresh everyday and such a wide variety, the head chef and his team are so friendly and accommodating, they serve and do their job exceptionally well.
Our family enjoyed the pool and the entertainment every night. We loved the village set up of the resort. While it’s so big this setup makes you feel like it’s still a small and personal stay. The white washed walls, blue doors and palm trees with lots of other greenery around brings that village feel to it. It’s also walking distance to the beach and shops like Spar is just across the road. We booked lovely tours from the travel agent just across. She is very good and speaks great English. As does everyone at the resort too.
Zacharius that’s often helping with luggage is so warm and welcoming, he makes you feel so at home.
Overall we would highly recommend Chrissi Armoudia . Such a lovely place for s family.

Myself and my 2 parents (both in their 70's) have just come back from a two week stay at Chrissi Amoudia. I've stayed at huge 5* AI resorts in Mexico and, if that's what you're expecting, you'll be disappointed. If, however, you're looking for a relaxing 2 weeks at a small AI with fantastic Greek hospitality, this is for you.
The accommodation consists of the main block and then single storey and 2 storey bungalows dotted around the grounds. We stayed in a first floor bungalow room with a sea view which was the furthest from the main block. These bungalows have no lifts and, due to the hotel being on a hill, there are quite a few steps to get to the pool and the main block so not the best if you have mobility issues or small children in buggy's. The grounds that surround the bungalows are beautiful and traditionally Greek.
There's lots of sun loungers dotted about with either umbrellas available or trees to use as shade. There was no need to do the 6am get up to reserve a bed as there was always some available and, due to the lay out around the pool, you weren't on top of each other. The pool consists of the main pool with 2 adjoining children's pools. The main pool was a good size and meant that I could get a decent swim in every day however the deep end was 2.7 metres!!
We had breakfast and our evening meal in the main restaurant which has a lovely view over the pool out towards the sea, and lunch at the snack bar by the pool. There was a huge choice in the main restaurant, breakfast you have a fresh egg station and this was used in the evening for speciality cooking. The snack bar for lunch had salad, pizza, chips, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and pork kebab. This also had a freezer containing ice cream for you to help yourself.
Drinks wise, soft drinks, water, beer and all wine was self serve in the snack bar, lobby bar and main restaurant. This helped keep the queues down in the day for the pool bar.
The animation team work non stop and their morning aqua aerobics was great fun.
The hotel and rooms were spotless, we changed our towels every other day to save on washing (who changes their towels every day at home?!!!). There's no maid on Sundays so you need to make sure that you re-use the towels from Saturday.
It was also nice around the pool to hear a mix of different nationalities. I'm so used to going away and only hearing English voices and there seemed to be a good mix of English, French, German and Dutch here.
A huge thank you to all the staff - always smiling and so hard working. Big shout out to Zac the security guard/porter. Always came and spoke and remembered all our names.
Chrissi Amoundia - efcharisto ❤
