Serita Beach Hotel is often celebrated for its spotless grounds and beachfront location, as well as a variety of amenities that enhance the lively and welcoming atmosphere. While the staff's friendliness and the spa treatments generally receive high marks, guests have noted the need for room updates and more consistent service. Despite the cleanliness and engaging entertainment options, some travelers express disappointment with the hotel's facilities and dining experiences, questioning the value it offers relative to its star rating.

The resort is large, with a lot of greenery, there is a main building, several bungalows, two swimming pools, a main restaurant, 3 themed restaurants (Italian, Asian and Greek), bars at the reception and by the pool, and the resort also has its own beach. The food deserves praise - the main restaurant has a large selection of meals, both salty and sweet, and we liked everything except one squid dish, which, according to all my companions, was inedible. Sometimes you have to wait for a table, but it only takes a few minutes. Thematic restaurants also had good food, we rated the Asian one the highest, the Italian one a little lower and the Greek one definitely the lowest, but it wasn't bad. As part of the all exclusive stay, a visit to each of these restaurants is free of charge. The bars serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails, local alcohol but not the worst. With a modest tip, the service was very nice, although even without tips, the entire staff was very nice and helpful. After 6 p.m. there is one bar left, with a queue forming there, even though the bartenders were very efficient. The bartenders by the pool and Krisoula from the bar at the reception were especially nice. Pools with a maximum depth of 2.5 m, but with a separate shallow water zone. It was not possible to occupy the sun loungers with towels from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. and this is a very good solution. The beach is the weakest point of the resort - there is only one row of sun loungers, the sandy entrance is maybe about 5 meters wide, the remaining width is made up of stones, which make it practically impossible to enter the sea during medium waves. I can't rate the rooms in the main building because I didn't use them, we had a bungalow with the worst rooms (441 - 446) because there was no access to the sun after 11 a.m., so it was impossible, for example, to dry clothes. View from the window of the tree covering the swimming pool. The rooms were cleaned randomly - sometimes thoroughly, sometimes very cursorily, and once the towels were replaced, we had to take them away and we had to ask for them. The service ladies were very hard-working, but apparently they couldn't clean everything properly every day. There was a bar in the room - basically replenished every day with sweet drinks and water. There was nowhere to hang wet clothes or towels, except for one hanger in the bathroom, which effectively protected against moisture loss. There is a car rental service at the resort - no problems with renting here, you can return the car at any time of the day or night. However, it is worth checking the condition of the car before renting it, because in ours the tire pressure was as low as the resort's beach :)
The area is basically uninteresting, apart from two chapels and a village to the west, with a few picturesque buildings. Everywhere else you have to take a car or rely on a public bus (we didn't use them).
I rate the resort 4 stars (7/10) (and that's a stretch). The biggest PLUS - the resort's employees, the biggest MINUS - the beach.

Hubby and I stayed in Room 468 which was the top room of a "bungalow" on the edge of the complex and the furtherest point from the pool with a slide and children activites which suited us perfectly and just next to the quiet pool. Lovely large room with a blue balcony and a wonderful unobscured sea view. Mini fridge filled daily with water and fizzy drinks - just a tip for the hotel - perhaps some zero fizzy drinks or fruit juices instead.
Poolside bar with views of the sea. Freshly cooked crepes and small bites available until midnight - thank you Sateen :) The a la carte restaurant offers greek, italian and asian on a 3 day rotation and you can book a meal for each - during the day it serves poolside food. Main restaurant has plenty to choose from - thank you Yannis for all your hard work.
There was usually one activity in the morning and two in the afternoon including water polo. Evening entertainment was low key with music each evening. Thank you Roxanne for keeping us supplied with drinks and popcorn.

It is a 15 minute walk to the bus stop or there is a one daily pick up and return to Heraklion (the capital) and Agios Nikolaos (portside village). Both worth a visit. From Heraklion you can catch a number 2 bus to Knossos Palace and I would recommed a tour guide when you reach Knossos. This is 100 euro but the guide will aim for 5 people and divide appropriately (children under 14 are free for the guide).

The hotel is located by the beach with a quite road inbetween. There is a flat walk along the beach for about 15 minutes in each direction. You will need beach shoes if going into the sea as it is quite rocky.

Overall, this was a truely fab holiday and I would recommend. Ignore the odd dig - no-where is perfect x

The rooms were comfortable and we had complimentary slippers, towelling dressing gowns, bathroom toiletries, very good hot showers, towels changed every two days if needed, so on the whole very pleased. The downside was the weather that week but not their fault. The main restaurant had lots of choices but all the ‘hot’ food is lukewarm unfortunately. It comes out hot but stands over hot water trays which don’t work. They have 3 extra restaurants bookable only once a week, at least the food is hot there. Crepes available from the crepe bar all day and obviously drinks all day. Animation team try very hard but rather childish however some people enjoyed it. Best night was the last night when the ‘group’ (one man ) ! Got everyone going. The tourist tax on handing in the key was a shock @ €28 which we wish they had told us about on first day! Not their fault about the tax but we’d paid all inclusive plus single room supplement already!

To start…. how this is rated 4 star by Jet2 I assume no one from the company stayed here before giving the rating! It is a 2 star at best! When we arrived at midday we were told checkin was at 3pm! There is no catering for children at meal times, the rest of the food choices are poor quality, cold and basic! Table cloths and cutlery are left for the next occupants between meals! The serving utensils are also left from dinner throughout the day until the next dinner (chip tongs etc)
The pool is filthy, no one has cleaned it since we have been here, tiles are missing, the filter is totally blocked with tissues and wet wipes and dirt on the floor.
The snack bar offers pancakes and waffles and salty meat sticks only, all drinks are watered down and poor quality. The drinking water tastes like chlorine!
The main hotel areas have no air con so extremely hot and uncomfortable.
Finally if you want a sun bed be prepared to set your alarm for 5am and have a nap on them until 9am otherwise you won’t get a bed…. The plus side is that the hotel do remove towels left with no occupants to save reserving before 9am!
There is an amazing local taverna ‘sunset taverna’ within 100m outside the hotel that welcomes you and provides an amazing setting and 5 star home cooked fresh food dining experience to watch the sunset!
Booker beware!

Hello,
We came on a family vacation for five days.
According to the advertisement, the hotel has 5 rooms with a high rating.
Unfortunately, this is not the case.
The hotel is of 2 star quality and no more.
And now I will explain:
Location - the hotel is located very close to the beach, the boardwalk is untidy and very old, there are no sidewalks on the road where vehicles travel.
There are a number of supermarkets for very expensive tourists.
Leaving the area is recommended only in a rented car, taxis are very expensive.
The food - there was no variety, for 5 days the same food was served with small changes.
Very low level (there were no hard cheeses, salty fish that characterize the region …..)
The food was not adapted to the Israelis in every dish even in the salads there was pork, in all meals during the day there were 4/5 meat dishes with pork and one dish of chicken or meat.
When the food runs out, fill up once or twice and then state that it's finished.
The rooms - do not take the first (family) floors, the rooms are very old, maintenance level is very low, the air conditioner works on ventilation, even though they tried to fix it, it did not drop below 23 degrees.
On the second day we discovered a mouse running around in the room, we asked to be transferred to another room but it was not my family and we had to split up the rooms.
The pool - the water is clean and at a good temperature, inside the pool in several places there were missing tiles, not safe and very dangerous.
The lobby - is not air-conditioned and the hotel itself is without air-conditioning, in the dining room in the corridors of the hotel, there are not even fans and the lighting is on in the passage.
The service - with the exception of the staff of the sweet bar, which was staffed by young people who smiled and were sympathetic, the service was not satisfactory, we were given the feeling that we were not welcome as hotel guests.

Second time at this hotel and honestly can't fault anything about it, staff bend over backwards to accommodate, they are the most wonderful friendly hotel staff we've ever known.
The hotel is spotless and cleaned every day without fail..little hotel minions are at it from 5.30am, most don't finish before 10pm, and are always so polite, drinks and food choices are amazing, something for everyone's taste, crepary bar is open from 10am till 12pm, so much yummy choice, and if you miss breakfast lunch or dinner there are lots of variety of sandwiches wraps cakes etc there.
Entertainment is great with something in the theatre every evening, and traditional greek live music on the terrace most nights..
The pool and surrounding areas including sunbeds are immaculate,
It has it's own beach directly across the road, a beautiful jewellery shop and newsagents on site, as well as a beauty salon. Very well priced in all.
There is a small children's club as well as a separate children's pool with it's own waterslides.
I could go on .but find out for yourselves, I promise you will not be disappointed..the only disappointment is going home 🥹
10 out of 10..next year will be our 3rd time at this hotel!!

A wonderful hotel that pampers its guests. Excellent professional service. The rooms are clean, cleaned every day. Food very good and large selection. Location on the first coastline. Sunbeds are always available thanks to a very high towel deposit and water being poured over the entire pool area every morning. This effectively discourages guests from leaving their belongings unattended at the pool. The hotel is located a bit off the beaten path, in a quiet area. You can't walk to Herssonisos. Bus stop about 15 minutes walk. You can drive to Heraklion (0.5 h) or to Herssonisos (15 min), Malia (20 min) or Agios Nikolaos (a little over 1 h). There is a nice promenade next to the hotel for walking, with lots of taverns and shops. Animations not very intense. Hotel rather quiet. Suitable for both couples and families with children. Ansa car rental counter in the hall - favorable car rental prices and everything on site.

This was 3rd time of going to this hotel, and basically despite being upgraded to 5* it has gone down in our estimation. The positives firstly... Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Manos on front desk. He always helped us to rectify any issues we had. The bar staff were under a lot of pressure, as seemed short staffed, but managed a smile and a laugh. The pool areas kept clean, and gardens maintained. The sun loungers had been upgraded to better one's. The tiles around pool were less slippy on this visit, so assume been replaced, as they used to be lethal! Our room was right next to smaller pool which was convenient for us. On our anniversary, Manos kindly arranged a bottle of Brut and a plate of fruit to be sent to our room.
The negatives... Hotel looking tired in areas. Walls and ceilings patched up with paint, handles falling off in bathroom and fitments need upgrading. We had 2 evenings of flooding in bathroom due to bad drainage/plumbing systems(as told by management).
There was a kettle and tea making facilities in room, but after the first day, the milk was not replenished. We had to get cups of milk everyday. A couple of days our water was not replenished, but always plenty of pop which we never drink!
The food was our biggest disappointment. Not 5* standard. The speciality restaurants were awful. Used to be a good dining experience, but no longer so. The cocktails are weak and cheap alcohol, and have to pay extra for certain drinks. You have to queue for drinks at both pool bar and main bar, which in the past, there were waiters who came round tables to take orders. Our other gripe was people smoking by the pool and on terrace. Perhaps now in modern times, with smoking unhealthy, it should be designated to certain areas?
We did hear that the hotel was to be demolished soon, and new buildings erected. Hopefully the general standards will return to as we experienced 13 years and 8 years ago.
The only other disadvantage is the hotel is not in easy access to main town. Taxi is 10 euros to Hersonisis.
Overall, we still had nice week, but could have been better.

We visited here last year with for our honeymoon, the staff were nice the pools were salt water, it wasn’t a 5* you’d expect but it was nice. We returned a year later for our wedding anniversary to the same hotel expecting a familiar experience. How wrong was I.
The Italian,Asian/sushi, and Greek restaurants. The restaurants are different, last year you could choose a starter, main and dessert, this year all starters are placed on the table then when you finish them , they give you the menus . So you don’t know what you’re eating and if you decide you don’t like anything it’s a waste.
The main meal in the Asian/sushi was look walk and flavourless. And definitely not what I would call Asian food. Watery half cooked noodles with lukewarm chicken and sauce. For their 3 restaurants the best is the Italian & the lady who served us in there. Georgia. Most of the staff ignore you.
The main restaurant- for someone that doesn’t eat fish , it was difficult to find food half the time with fish being the main thing they have served. The vegetables aren’t just vegetables, they are purées of broccoli, and odd versions, even then you’re lucky if you find a label to know what you’re eating.
A lady working in the restaurant yelled as me and my husband for trying to sit on a 4 seater table as all the 2 seater tables were dirty or being used. No manners. The manager of the restaurant sweated so much one night it put me and my husband off our food as he wonders around with his shirt soaked through. It was dress smart last year, with closed shoes for men. This year it’s men in tiny speedos & flip flops every night. The food is not good & very repetitive.
The pool- not sure what keeps it ‘clean’ but it’s not salt or chlorine now. Still the same broken ladder to get in, loose tiles on the floor and drainage around the edge still broken.
The leaflet that you get when you get your room key says no reserving sun loungers from 8-9. By 7.30 each morning they were all reserved.
The Jewellery shop- you are forced to buy & not allowed to change your mind, if you don’t buy, the old man comes out his shop to yell in the hotel reception at you. This is not what anyone wants on their holiday.

The hotel is about an hour away from the airport which was fine,

On arrival we were greeted by a member of staff and they took our suitcases and got us a drink as we checked in which was lovely.
We paid for a sea view, and we did get it but a more view of the pool which then overlooks the sea. The room itself I couldn't complain about. The beds were comfy and it was cleaned everyday to a decent standard, you got bathrobes and slippers, there was a not very powerful hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities but sadly these weren't filled up correctly. Everyday. We did complain to reception which they eventually got filled up.
The overall facilities at this hotel were clean and lovely except from the restaurant, there was some variations on food but unfortunately everything was served lukewarm, and when this was brought to the attention of the staff nothing seemed to change, a few other families that are on holiday at the same time of us did also complain and felt like it went on death ears. Which was a real disappointment considering everything else was lovely about this hotel, you are right on the beach, you are a bit isolated. There isn't much around to walk to. The closest town is 20 minutes in a taxi.
We tried the alacar restaurants, we tried the Italian which was lovely as you got to try one of each of the starters and then a choice of Main which I had a pizza and I will say it was probably the hottest meal I had in the whole week. We then tried the Greek night, and again starters were fine. We then ordered chicken on a bed of potatoes, which actually turned up to be on a bed of chips which were stone cold, when we address the issue to the waitress she didn't say anything and just took the plate and walked off, 20 minutes later she came back and offers us dessert, I declined and we left hungry.
Overall as many people have said in the comments and many people made comments once we were there. Also this isn't a five-star hotel. The food in the main restaurant or the food in general really let lets this place down. Like I said in my above comments, you are right on the beach which is lovely, the actual hotel is very pretty in itself and we found it to be clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately we would not return due to the bad food. That's really the main downside of this hotel.

Hi Iwona. The meals are all buffet style and there is plenty of choice. The descriptions are very simplistic so you will need to check with the staff as to their actual content. You are escorted to your seat so that member of staff should be able to assist and there are usually staff behind the serving areas too. I hope this is helpful.
