Stayed for one night after an early morning flight from London. Well positioned, cheap and served our purpose perfectly. It's a bit shabby around the edges but would definitely stay again if we were in Athens, albeit not for a long stay.

I would recommend it if you're staying in Athens 1-3 nights. The hotel is cheap and clean and stuff is friendly. It's located near city center so it's a walking distance to any place worth-see in Athens. Unfortunately, wifi works only in a reception

Our room was terrible. Furniture (including doors and windows) was really old and in bad shape. We had three windows (two in the room and one in the bathroom) and we kept our curtains closed all the time, because "the view" included an old building next door and huge piles of garbage. Awful. But the location is not bad, close...

Stayed only one night and it was quite terrible, bathroom felt like it was very old and stained everywhere. The furniture was also very old. The area was also full of strange people, especially at night, I wouldn't feel safe around there alone.

We stayed here one night and lately felt fortunate! The hotel was quite a mess: tiny bathroom/toilet, smoking-full reception area (we saw 2/3 of the receptionists smoked right where they work, speechless then), very poor wifi and horrible elevator! We knew this place had cheap rent, but couldn't expect to have such things like this. The only plus was one...

Stayed one night either end of visiting the islands, was very cheap but decent. When we arrived the first night they had overbooked but put us in their other hotel only s couple of streets away which was fine. Wifi was not great but okay, pretty much get what you payed for, but suited us just fine because we were...

Its an old building that smells of cigarette smoke, because the manager is always smoking in the reception. Also the rooms are quite dirty. Average service, dirty, bad internet and if you don't like that smell, its hell. The only thing that I liked of this Hotel was the location.

This place is fine for a one-night stay, because it offers low rates, good location and all basic things. The bathroom and balcony were surprisingly spacious, the elevator is designed for 3 pax, but is very tiny, though functions well. We had in our room an air conditioner, two single beds and basic toiletries. The internet is free but accessible...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
