The group consisted of myself, my wife, our grown up son, and his friend. My wife and I had visited before and enjoyed our visit so when we decided to return to Athens there was no question about where we should stay. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the hotel lived up to expectations. Last time I reviewed on...

The staff was very nice, the breakfast was always superb and the hotel was very clean. Our room had a perfect view of the Acropolis. the room itself was very cosy...

This was a very comfortable hotel and the staff was very kind and helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer! We enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop bar and watched our last sunset in Athens from the roof top

Very polite, professional staff welcomed us at check in. The room was very clean which was very important to me. The breakfast was very good. The cappachino was average. The view on the rooftop was exquisite. I would stay again.

Well, I was grateful that they could fit me in for a night, but the room was right under the stone staircase with people tramping up and down to the rooftop bar. The position is quite fun, right near Monastiraki and lots of small historic churches, but in true Greek stupyle I didn't get much sleep. The view from the...

Rooms small but very comfortable. Very clean and rooftop bar a must at sunset. Breakfast was good with a varied selection. I would stay here again. Only ten minutes walk to Acropolis and the museum, also the Plaqua.

Hotel Central is well located in the center of Athens in Plaka. Small rooms and tinny bathroom/shower but at least clean and having all the comfort you need for a short stay in Athens. Avoid the rooms nearby the elevator, cause you really hear it Avoid rooms on the 6 floors which are nearby the elevator and under the roof...

This Hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. The roof bar although only snacks are served we had good wine and a meat plate excellent. View is just great and we were there in January! Location is also very good for restaurants and transport.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
