It is a good hotel. Nevertheless, I made a mistake and forgot my and my wife's swimming suits at the hotel room. When I returned (the day after checkout) my wife's brand new Marks & Spencer swimming suit had disappeared. To make matters worse when I asked for investigation, the reply I got was "you either never brought your swimming...

This was a very nice hotel, we got an upgrade which was very kind! In terms of where the hotel sits in town, it's not the greatest – not a very nice street to walk down. But, the hotel is excellent and we found the service to be a very good standard.

Visited for 3 nights for business. The hotel is nice the room was nice and large so was the bathroom. Bathroom needs a little renovation. Breakfast is good. All the staff were polite and helpful. The only fault I could find was the location near Omonoia. Even though not as bad as a few years ago you still not feel...

Wow, I did enjoyed this place so much. There are a lot of art objects, everything looked cool. I liked the room, even though it was the basic one. The cleaning was great every day. Breakfast was good, lots of selection. The hotel is located in Omonia district which is 15 minutes walk from Monastiraki and 20-25 minutes walk from...

Hand painted artsy rooms, each different. We had water lilies and dragonflies on the walls. Art hanging and present in the lobby and dining room. The hotel is relatively small and its facade unimpressive but everything inside worked perfectly for us - clean, large room, comfortable large bed, very good breakfast, WiFi, coffee/tea in the room. The only problem was...

The location is perfect, next to Omonoia Square and close to Monastiraki Square also. Our room was really good (bed, bathroom, A/C, towels) and clean. The personnel was really kind. Every room has easy access to the Internet, through the hotel's wifi network. We also had a great breakfast at the first floor, with lots of delicious things to eat!!...

I've stayed at this hotel in January 2017, alone. I must say that Pallas Athena was simply perfect for me in almost every respect. The staff is what makes or breaks any hotel stay for me, and here each and every one of them was extremely positive, well-mannered and had an overall "can do" attitude. Everything I asked for was...

The hotel is situated in Plaka with a bundle of things to see just outside the door. The hotel management is excellent and friendly (thanks for the nice treats at our departure ) The reception is more than helpful when locating local restaurants or giving directions for sights or other. The rooms are “funny” – in a good way. We...

We visited the Grecotel Pallas during New Year's Eve for 7 nights and we are very happy with what we got. The hotel's location is just brilliant, steps away from Monasteraki square and acropolis. We arrived late in the evening and we were greeted by Anastasia, the receptionist. She did a great job in checking us in and giving some...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
