A stone throw away from the Plaka district, next to Adrian's Arch and all the important sights in Athens. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms are large and airy . A lavish breakfast is served which includes quite a few of the local delicacies. The staff go out of their way to help us guests in every way possible. They...

This hotel blew us away with a fabulous suite with view, gorgeous bathroom and very comfortable living room area. The staff was great- friendly, helpful. A small hotel in a great location. Can't say enough good things about it!

This was an amazing experience. I originally wanted to get away from my busy life, seeing as I'm working towards a master's degree in architecture, and I live with my roommate. I wanted to visit a place(Greece) I knew had amazing architecture, and staying at this hotel provided perfect opportunities for me. The staff was warm and welcoming, even when...

Would recommend this hotel highly. Location is within walking distance of the major things to see and do in Athens. They even arranged transportation to and from the airport for our group that wouldn't fit in a taxi.

Great views of the Acropolis from the terrace. The hotel staff was fabulous. The bedroom was spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The living room, where the kids stayed was a bit tight, but overall solid experience.

Although there seems little to had to all the positive revues this place gets here, we were still delighted by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great location of the hotel, the "family-friendliness" of our suite room and the great breakfast.

We were taking two teenagers to Athens so obviously free WiFi was the top priority. We wanted to be close to the Acropolis and major sites with easy transport links out for mini jaunts and in an area where any of us would feel safe and comfortable popping out to the shops. We needed separate rooms for them, and us,...

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel located nearly across street from Hadrian Gate in Plakka. Our spacious room in 3rd floor faced interior courtyard overlooking backs of other buildings which was fine. We had a narrow balcony. It was quiet at night although you could hear barely street noise. No issue. Clean and bed...

Stayed at the AVA hotel for 3 nights back in February. Location was great for visiting the Acropolis etc and the Plaka district all within short walking distance. Hotel was clean, modern, small. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms well designed - we had a kitchenette assume other rooms were similar. Would definitely stay here again

The hotel is lovely, quiet and comfortable. The rooms spacious, the bed and other furnishings comfortable. The staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful. Easy walking to many good restaurants and of course some the of most important sites: the Acropolis, the Museum, Ancient Agora and so son.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
