This was a great hotel to stay in. The neighborhood can look a bit sketchy at night, but I walked to here from the Omonia train station 3 minutes away after 9pm and had no problems. The room was a good size for my wife and me, although the room layout could have made better use of the space. The...

Stayed here for one night after 6 nights on the Island of Hydra. Was told we'd been upgraded to a 'superior' room, which instead of the shower cubicle of the one I'd booked had a 'jacuzzi bath'. Bath looked a little grubby, and instead of a double room had a twin with the beds pushed together. Room has no kettle...

Melia Athens is a perfect hotel to visit Athens. It has everything you need (nice rooms, pool, gym,...) and it is close to Metro station to discover all Athens. Staff in reception was very kind and helpful. We had dinner one night at Sky Restaurant and it was an excellent experience with amazing views. My only complaint is that Hotel...

From the beggining to the end, the friendly staff of Melia Athens makes you feel welcome. Everybody was REALLY helpful (and actually patient) and everything works as is supposed to be in a hotel. I didn't have any problems. The rooms are very clean, and those beds are just heaven! By the way is great to have a jacuzzi in...

We arrived on the 25th of July at about 15:00. The lobby was spotless and the receptionists were very welcoming and polite. The music played in the lobby was quite relaxing and the seating area was quite large. Unfortunately, the sofas were quite uncomfortable and the cushions were coated in an irritating material that irritates you if it touches your...

We had a level experience room. Good size and a nice big bed with a selection of pillows. Water and coffee on the room, free of charge and great service. Bathroom with jacuzzi. Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
