I had an executive suite, so it was a good size for what I needed. I was greatly disappointed with breakfast and decided I could not eat any meals at this hotel. I went to breakfast every morning to get a glass of orange juice and eat a hard boiled egg. Scrambled eggs looked more like cream of corn, simply...

Good price for the quality of hotel. Not good to walk in local area at night. Nearby lots of prostitutes and drunks but down the hill from the hotel - not at hotel site. Disappointed that spa and pool were shut at our visit but the downstairs lounge was comfy and the computer worked. Would I stay again? Yes. Good...

Great rooms, excellent staff at all levels. Service and friendliness exceptional. Restaurant provided great meals. Breakfast buffet had a wide range and was of good quality (if a litte expensive). Location allowed for easy access to the attractions of Athens and to the metrorail.

Location is horrible, Nothing nearby! You will have to Uber/Lyft wherever you need to go to get to anything worth seeing! Initially, I was thinking this would be a great place to stay because I stay at Melía International Hotels whenever I travel abroad. This experience was definitely different and its possible because it isn't all inclusive such as the...

The ultimate tests for me are 1) whether I would come back to a hotel on a return trip; and 2) whether I would recommend it to family and friends. As regards the Athens Melia, the answer is an unequivocal 'yes,' on both counts. The property is located in an area of downtown Athens that looks pretty bad. Spray painted...

We stayed in this hotel for two nights before our cruise. It was within walking distance from the Metro station and we took the subway from the airport. A very well managed hotel and we enjoyed the breakfast. We took Uber to the Cruise ship terminal for about 14 Euro.

I was not given a room as per request and the first room had a major leak. The room given on exchange had a major leak too. Staff were curt. No complimentary coffee/tea or bottled water. Would not recommend it.

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
