I stayed in this excellently located hotel with my son for 4 nights. Simple but functional, satisfying breakfast in the morning, room cleaned every day, little balcony that my son enjoyed to spy all around. The staff at the reception extremely nice and helpfull! I would go back. Only negative point: the shower curtain is too short and you will...

Great location, only a few minutes on foot from Monastiraki and Sindagma Squares. Nice room, cleaned every day. Good breakfast with variety of sweet stuff and cheese or ham and vegetables. Quiet street, in the centre but away from the city noise and crowds of tourists. I found two great restaurants just round the corner, which served such great food...

We found this hotel to be average. First, the room is great except a "queen" bed is actually 2 twins pushed together which was odd and the bathroom is very small. The location is good, very close walking distance to everything. The only downside is the 3 adult video stores across the street and that this hotel is on the...

I had just spent ten days out on the islands and was planning on only staying here for a night before I was to fly out the following morning. During the time that I was on the boat and got to the hotel, the air traffic controllers went on strike and as I checked in the desk staff was quick...

Perfect location, spotless rooms, although the bathrooms can be a bit small. The staff is very friendly, helpful and pretty switched on. The reception was open 24/7. The only downside is the breakfast which was average.

There are several ok eating places within walking distance. We had a good breakfast before we left the hotel, the service is good so I'm...

Very central in its location and served the purpose of my stay. Most of the staff was very helpful. The markets are in the same block and a daily stroll to start the day was simply great. The room was very small but had what I needed and as a single, was just perfect. Breakfast isbasic but plenty and ok....

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
