Fresh Hotel garners mixed reviews on value, with some guests commending its affordability and others questioning the prices charged for the services offered. The hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with numerous travelers noting the immaculate rooms and facilities. While most guests commend the friendly and helpful staff, a few recount instances of inconsistent service.
The hotel's atmosphere is generally well-received, despite critiques about room and balcony sizes. Its central location is a highlight for many guests, as is the fresh breakfast and rooftop dining, even though some find the rooms to be on the smaller side.

Detailed Reviews
I really liked this hotel and in particular, felt it was excellent value for money. I visited in late Autumn but was able to pay only ~ €90 per night including breakfast.
The standard room was a good size and includes a balcony. Mine had a good view, though I think some just face a side street. Loved the Korres toiletries in the bathroom.
All the staff I interacted with were super helpful. The hotel also was very on top of COVID protocols, right down to wrapping TV remote controls in plastic to ensure no contamination between guests.
The location is pretty good; I had heard mixed things about this part of town (it is a bit quiet / dark after 7-8pm) but ultimately you are 5 minutes walk away from lots of restaurants in Monasteraki.
Would happily stay again!

I have reviewed the Fresh hotel previously but I wanted to add a review that covers the current situation during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Overall I am very impressed by how the hotel has been handling the “new normal”. The front desk has been proactive at communicating with customers soon after booking and providing a platform for a proper advance check in, where all the required information can be provided.
This made check in extremely efficient and there was barely any contact with the front desk other than a very warm welcome and handing over the room keys. We were already aware that room cleaning was by request only. That said, anything needed, from fresh towels to Korres bath amenities were swiftly delivered to the room upon request. Housekeeping staff also proactively asked if we needed anything else.
The previously varied buffet breakfast now consists of items carefully packaged or presented in sealed jars. I still felt that there was a great deal of choice. Cut fruit and fruit salads in jars, Greek yoghurt, nuts, salad, cheeses, cured meats, tyropita; all very well packed and presented! I was impressed and felt very confident in the hotel’s high health standards. The hotel also offers a small number of cooked dishes at an extra cost.
All hotel staff wore face masks (nicely branded with the hotel logo) at all times. I also found the staff, once again, to be very friendly, extremely helpful and very efficient at all levels of the hotel and something that, for me, makes the hotel stand out. Yes, the rooms are beginning to show their age and some elements such as the shower door seals or the soap stand in the shower have seen better days but the rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable!
And as always, the rooftop pool/bar/restaurant area is a pure delight for spending hot days or wonderful evenings overlooking the Acropolis! The location of the hotel makes it easily accessible by both public transport and on foot to explore the city centre. What was once considered a seedy neighbourhood of Athens has seen a lot of renovation recently and has upped its game. The hotel has no doubt contributed to that since its opening.
A very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend the hotel - it is exceptional value for money!

The Fresh Hotel is conveniently located close the the Central Municipal Market in Athens, making all the main Athens tourist sites within easy reach.
The hotel has over 130 rooms across nine floors, with a roof terrace bar, a small swimming pool and a modest fitness centre.
We stayed in room 713 and our friend in neighbouring 712.
The rooms aren’t particularly large but they’re clean and comfortable with individual balconies. Perfect for a city break, as we didn’t really spend that long in our rooms.
Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor, which due to Covid restrictions the offering was more limited than usual but perfectly sufficient, acceptable and enjoyable.
From the roof top there are great views of the Parthenon.
With the use of the central lifts, the hotel appears to be fully accessible for less able-bodied travellers.
We enjoyed our four-night stay here and would stay again.

On arrival the receptionist was incredibly helpful, recommending places to visit, restaurants to go to etc and gave us a map. Check in was really smooth and easy and we were in our room very quickly.
Our room was simple, clean and comfortable which was what we wanted for a city break... nothing fancy or elaborate. I assume all the rooms follow a similar “template”.
The bed was very comfortable, good air conditioning and a great shower. The room also had a balcony which was nice to sit on in the morning or early evening.
Breakfast was basic (I guess due to corona virus restrictions) so we only ate in the hotel once and instead opted to find places in the city for breakfast which was a much better way of discovering interesting coffee houses and cafes.
The hotel has a really cool roof top terrace and pool. This is great for sunbathing and chilling out. We had 2 coffees on the roof terrace one afternoon which were ridiculously over priced (€12) so we didn’t do that again. You can find a really good double espresso in a coffee house for €1.80 in Athens.
The hotel is located within walking distance of all the main tourist spots and some very cool areas where you can find bars and restaurants and shops. We walked every where so the hotel was very handy from that perspective.
Check out was as smooth as check in and the hotel sorted us with the taxi to the airport.
The overall service was very good.
This is a good hotel if you need somewhere to shower and sleep and if you’ll be out all day exploring Athens.

Very friendly and exceptionally helpfull staff. The rooms with a view on the innerside of the building are very quiet to sleep. So if you don´t mind not having a view, ask for such a room.
There were dried and candied local fruits in the room as a welcome, very nice. Also local tea and instant coffee on the room.
The products in the room were of very high quality. Next to shampoo, showergel, conditioner and a bar of soap, there was also disinfectant gel. Rooms were only cleaned on request because of corona. We appreciated this safe distance a lot. Breakfast was fresh and had a lot of options for a full on breakfast, but also fresh fruit juice, fruit, desserts,... The roof terrace is amazing. Don´t check out without at least having a cocktail there. The food is refined and delicious too. Beds were very comfortable. We are definitely coming back here if we visit Athens again.

Really great location in a great neighbourhood for access to central sites and great cafes and bars. The rooftop pool and bar is really nice with a view of the acropolis. The rooms are quite small and due to covid there is no house keeping during the stay. I understand this but they need to modify this to at least supply extra shampoo and toilet paper etc to the rooms during longer stays. In addition the lifts in the building are very small and slow meaning getting around the hotel at peak times can be challenging. Overall very nice place, some changes needed and as a result of price paid can only rate 3.

I am a Marriott Titanium and picked this hotel based on the fact that Design Hotels is under the Marriott umbrella. It's a very affordable option for those who don't mind a basic hotel with "dorm style" rooms.
Upon arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. My room wasn't ready yet, as it was early in the morning, but she was very helpful and made me feel right at home. Once in the room, an Executive Room with City View, I found it to be immaculately clean, with wonderful bath products. These rooms are basic, and not for those who enjoy a high-end experience. The decor is very bold and there is a lot of wasted space (in this room type, at least). Something that is fun about this hotel, though, is that each room is in a bit of a different style. My city view room did have a city view, but don't expect sprawling views. Mine just looked onto other rooftops. The huge balcony was nice to have.
The selling point for this hotel is the wonderful rooftop pool and bar. It has fantastic views of the city and surrounding hills. The space is very functional and lends a really energetic atmosphere to this property.
It is worth noting, that the neighborhood this hotel is in is not very nice. It's very rundown and seedy. However, it is centrally-located, so it's best to walk quickly through the immediate area or take a taxi (which I usually saw sitting there available).
I would visit this hotel next time if I am looking for a more affordable option. It's clean, comfortable and friendly.

Quirky and unusual hotel. Obvious attractions are rooftop bar with ( small) pool and stunning view of Acropolis; reasonably central location ( though may take a little time to get bearings it’s actually only short walk to centre). However the decor and little extra touches make this feel a very different stay. Not traditionally “ Greek style” but modern, bright and innovative ( an arts/ relaxing room; breakfast place mats with word searches for philosophers/ Greek islands; pastel coloured tinted glass in showers/ other areas ; eco friendly toiletries etc). Yoga by pool ( extra charge) , cucumber infused water in reception during the day. Staff are busy ( large hotel) but still make time to answer questions/ book ongoing transport etc. Best breakfast selection in Athens however just be aware of some less than typical pricing ( charges for more than one coffee at breakfast; slightly over the odds bar pricing with no complimentary tiny tapas etc ) Still a lovely hotel.

The hotel was centrally located, walking distance to all central tourist spots meaning we didn’t have to use public transport except when heading out of town. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, our room was basic but adequate, the bed was comfy and the shower was excellent. We used the roof top bar most evenings, a lovely spot for a drink with a view of the Acropolis however prices were expensive compared with elsewhere. The pool is lovely and is a great area to cool off and relax although we did struggle to obtain a sun lounger on a few occasions. Breakfast had a good selection with the added bonus of fresh pressed orange juice, the hotel provided a breakfast to take away for the day of departure as we had a 6am pick up. Due to the location it can be noisy however it didn’t keep us awake. We would stay here again if we returned to Athens.

Fresh is a modern hotel in great location for bars and restaurants. A few minutes walk away is an area filled with inexpensive places to eat and drink. The metro station is a short stroll too. The food market is opposite. The breakfast was excellent,in a light, airy room with lots of local dishes to try. The room itself was clean and modern. However, when we booked we'd read "most rooms have balconies" but ours didn't. It's worth clarifying this with your travel agent when you book. We'd chosen the hotel due to it's rooftop pool and bar but although these were both lovely, the area was rather small and crowded: there wasn't any room for a dip whilst we were there as many others were always using the pool. Also, bar prices were quite expensive: €5. 50 for an Americano coffee and €12 for a cocktail. It's worth noting that you must print your hotel confirmation paperwork beforehand as they were quite strict about this.
