This hotel was recommended in our Rick Steve's guide to Greece. We were terribly disappointed! While the location was good the hotel experience was very poor. The rooms were small and smelled of stale smoke. Both nights we stayed we had to speak to reception about the terrible noise of others guests (playing loud rave music, slamming doors, and socializing...

This was a great, reasonably priced place to stay in Plaka, the historic quarter of Athens. It is a European style hotel (older building, small rooms, tiny elevator) but it is clean and well maintained. The breakfast was decent but the view from the rooftop terrace where breakfast is served is amazing: you can eat your Greek yogurt and sip...

Thanks to the exceptional staff including Panos, Nikos, Sandra and others for their wonderful hospitality. Small but very cosy hotel in an excellent location - particularly to public transport, local attractions and eateries. Extended stay by a further day.

Plus side - great location in the Plaka, friendly helpful staff, wonderful view of the Acropolis from the restaurant, the basic continental breakfast including yogurt, breads, hard boiled eggs, etc. worked for us Cons - room was a little shabby, beds were hard and we had a view of brick walls, shower water ran onto the bathroom floor

This was probably the worst place we stayed at during our two weeks in Greece. On the plus side, there is a nice rooftop bar with a great view of the Acropolis lit up at night. Breakfast is also served on the rooftop from 6:30-9:30. Also, they do have a computer and printer where you can print boarding passes. Now...

we were 3 nights and we think the following positive: ideal location near the acropolies and around the street there are many places to eat and drink. Staff very kind, they help a lot. Negative: by the same price you find better places. Rooms are very small. The badroom looks like the badroom in the airplanes with shower include. there...

We stayed in this hotel in September 2014. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. Hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice view to acropolis from the restaurant on the 5th floor. Breakfast buffet is good (yogurt, cheese, ham, eggs, cereals, milk, honey and so on) Cons: A bit expensive for this type of hotel. Cannot open curtains...

Myself and my fiance stayed here for 4 nights from 30th Aug to 3rd Sept. We enjoyed our stay, it was in a fab location in Plaka round the corner from lots of lovely restaurants and bars which we went to every night. It was quite quiet on the hotel's street though. Was within walking distance of the Acropolis and...

Ideally located within walking distance of the Acropolis and close to the centre of town, the major attractions and the tourist area. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made me feel at home. The terrace on the bar has a great view of the acropolis and serves alcohol and soft drinks well into the evening. I'm keen to...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
