Thought from experience that this hotel although well positioned was overpriced. The bathroom shower like many in hotels was small and difficult to move about in and I am a slim person. The room was just average bed and pillows very firm and not comfortable. No safe in room and was told when checking in that final payment would need to...

My husband and I had a double room with a TINY shower cubicle but, by the time we returned to this hotel after a couple of weeks in the islands, we worked out that a lot of Greek bathrooms are small and the shower works best if you hand-hold the shower head. Apart from this the rooms were fine, the...

Let me start with the positives...location location! And you won't find a better view of the Acropolis from your breakfast table. Unfortunately there are a few things that the wonderful location could not make up for and would divert me from staying at this budget hotel again. These things could have easily been improved by the owners. The first was...

Hotel very well situated in Plaka, close to Syntagma square (5 minutes walking approx.). Of course, this is not a luxury hotel; in fact it is an old hotel with old and small rooms a very small bathroom, but no expensive. Nevertheless, if you are interested to visit Athens, it is a good choice based on the very well location...

The hotel was good value for money. Keep in mind that they ask for cash instead of card. The view of the Acropolis from the terrace was amazing especially at night. They have a 10:30pm closing time upstairs which we found hard to leave as we were just settling in with some ouzo and cards but completely understandable for the...

The hotel is good, not cheap but very well locate in the heart of Plaka, you can do everything just walking. It has an really nice view from the terrace and it is perfect to see the sunset. It's quiet and room has a good size. Some of the Staff is not very friendly, but you can not say it...

Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Rooms good size, beds hard. Bathroom small. But adequate. Toilet flushed very loud. Breakfast simple but good with fresh bread and delicious jelly. Very quiet, no outside noise and could not hear other guests. Elevator available for luggage and those not able to manage the stairs. View from the roof top terrace of the Accropolis...

Nice hotel near the Plaka in Athens. Rooms are on the smaller side, and breakfast is basic. Staff are very helpful and the view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar/dining room is great. Free internet, however found this to be a bit slow and inconsistent. Felt safe as two women travelling together.

Nice staff, good location and good view from the breakfast area. However the bathrooms are very very small, shower head has to be handheld. The a/c unit is controlled by the front desk so you have to ring reception if you want it on. There is no soft surfaces in the hallways or insulation on the doors or rubber door...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
