Right at the edge of the Plaka, which is where the Acropolis is - where ALL the action is really. Only 2 minute walk from Thissio station, which itself is only a 15 minute train ride to Pireaus - so for anyone heading to the islands via ferry from Athens, perfect. Don't get suckered-in to taking a cab. The metro...

i stayed in october, hotel is near archeological area, the neighborhood, Thissio, seems rough at first sight but actually is one of the up and coming areas in Athens, full of young people, restaurants, and bars. my room was average, clean, not special, the real bonus is the roof with a fantastic view over the parthenon, you can have breakfast...

The Jason Inn has a marvelous breakfast with perhaps the best view of all of Athens' skyline imaginable. It's the best part of the hotel. The rooms are adequate and what you'd expect from a three star hotel (although, strictly speaking, it's a two star hotel). There's plenty of hot water and the staff are nice enough (with some exceptions)....

Hotel isa basic budget hotel but worked well for our family with older children. Rooms clean and quiet. Location is great with a 2 minute walk to the Plaka area. We did not feel unsafe in the area. Breakfast buffet is fabulous including our favourite greek yogurt . We will never forget dining on the garden terrace overlooking the acropolis...

The Jason Inn Hotel is located within walking distance from most of the main tourist attractions in Athens, Greece. The best features of this hotel are its good location and the remarkable view from its rooftop restaurant. The rooms are very basic, but they are clean and include a bed (or beds), air conditioning, television with about 13 to 16...

This was a serviceable hotel, but we could have done better. My major complaint was with the Psirri neighborhood. True, it was a quick walk to the central tourist areas below the acropolis, HOWEVER, the Psirri neighborhood is one that is literally rising from the ashes. It was previously all burnt-out unoccupied buildings. Psirri is in the process of renovation,...

Room was modest on a busy street, but roof restaurant view is fabulous, as is breakfast which is also served there. Helpful staff. Near Monastiraki Square and Psiri neighborhood which is a mix of deteriorating and new building. Good restaurants and lively nightlife.

budget hotel, the rooms are spacious enough, the rooftop bar area is excellent, fantastic views of the acropolis especially at night lit up it's a sight to see. It is only a quick 5-10 minute walk to restaurants, market area and great shopping area (zara etc). However the area around the hotel is a bit sad. The rooms are tired,...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was a short walking distance from the metro. Every morning we had breakfast on the roof top while viewing the acropolis. This was a great way to start each day. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

This hotel was a lot better than we expected. The hotel was very close to the Plaka and nearby restaurants and markets. The rooms, were quite big and even though the decor was dated, this did not deter from the service we received. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. The breakfast on the roof-top was great and probably...

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
