As soon as we checked in and until when we checked out the staff was really helpful and happy to be there. The location was great for all the landmarks. Beds are not too comfy but after a long day walking you just crash so not a biggie. Breakfast is ok - stay away from fried toast.

Upon arrival, the Hotel Parthenon (the real name out front) is very impressive. It is on a "quiet" street. Service from the staff was excellent. We chose this location as it was close to the Plaka and it was a true Triple room. All 3 twin beds were comfy and we had a choice of pillows. The wi-fi worked well...

+ Great location with easy access to all major tourist attractions like Acropolis, Plaka, Syntgama etc. + Lots of eating Options nearby + Friendly staff at the reception + Very good breakfast; Greek cuisine - Room sizes are small. The Initial room allocated was really small and no where compared to the room displayed at the time of booking. However,...

Easy to find just a few minutes from Acropolis metro station. Within walking distance of most of the sights. Nice room with a balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of choice for breakfast. We had dinner in the hotel which was very tasty and very competitively priced. Excellent value for money hotel.

Velissarios was very helpful and had a great english vocabulary. He told us where to go and what to do / not to do. Recommended places for my partner and I to eat at and even printed our boarding passes for us. Great hotel, nice and clean, great location.

I have stayed only for one night, the room was spacious and the customer service very attentive. It is in a beautiful location, straight in the center few minutes walk from the Acropolis and the metro station.

We stayed for 3 nights and I cannot complain for anything, especially it is very close to every historical sites and entertainment places, such as Plaka, Monastraki. The hotel room was not very colorful but very clean. We are satisfied.

My wife and I stayed at the Parthenon three times during our recent tour of Greece. The guided tour started and ended in Athens, and the Parthenon was the tour group's hotel. All went well. Particularly notable were that the hotel opened up its breakfast room very, very early as our group departed before dawn to catch a ferry, and...

We arrived early for a Road Scholar tour and since they were using this hotel and after reading good reviews on TRIPADVISOR, we booked it. It was an excellent decision since the staff could not have been better and the location was fantastic. It was very near the new Acropolis Museum, easy walking distance to the Plaka, the Arch of...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
