The lobby is in well kept condition. The rest of the hotel is lousy.
In the room the wallpaper har partly fallen off in one corner. The minibar was empty (which gave room for our own beverages). The hallways and the roof restaurant were worn...More
This hotel is deperately in need of renovation. Everything is falling apart in side and out. Looking at the outside structure from my bedroom window I wondered whether it was safe. The hotel will probably remain standing a while, but I wondered whether someone might...More
The hotel in it self is nice.
Very nice workers in the front desk.
Hotel itself is in need of a repair or 2. But situated in a great place.

Whatever problems you may find at this hotel will quickly evaporate the first time you eat breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. We were completely blown away by the experience. The Parthenon almost seems within touching distance and dominates the panoramic view you get from this...More
The location is excellent. Close to Syntagma and main tourist attractions in Athens.
But the hotel itself was not that good. I booked a room with a double bed. Instead, I got two single beds close together. The linens were old and a little "disgusting"....More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
Hi my girlfriend and I will be going to stay in astor hotels and we will arrive Piraeus at late night (around 1130pm from ferry). Besides of catching a cab, is there any other safe way to get to the hotel that late? From the internet it sounds like the metro green line is not that safe at night while I'm quite not sure about the situation of the neighborhood around the hotel at late night... Or is there any pick up service able to be offered by the hotel? Thank you!

Taxi is always a good idea late at night but in my opinion I found the neighborhood safe since we went out late at night with no problems.
