Located within blocks of the Acropolis & in a neighborhood with too many restaurants to mention, The A.G.'s Best feature is the knowledge & friendliness of the staff. There is an elevator & the room would probably rate 2.5 stars in terms of comfort--typical European thin mattress but you have everything you need. Breakfast is sufficient--cereal, bread, fruit, etc. but nothing...

We stayed at the Art Gallery Hotel at the beginning of our trip and at the end. As a base in Athens, it would be hard to beat. The location is great anyway, just down the hill from the Acropolis, but with the New Acropolis Museum on this side, it has gotten even better. The neighborhood has some tourists but...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 days in September 2016 and found it to be very comfortable and more importantly, home-like. It's family run with original paintings and art books all around. Rooms are simple but nice—and extremely clean. The optional breakfast was better than most. You can see the Acropolis from the dining room balcony, which is...

We needed a room for only one night in Athens. The Art Gallery Hotel is in a great location. It is clean and functional with very helpful staff and a surprisingly nice bar with views of the Acropolis. Easy walk to many of the top sites in Athens.

We stayed here for one night, and that was fine for the price we paid. So close to the Acropolis, yet not quite in Plaka. The room (22) was basic, but sufficient for our needs. The wifi was strong. The fridge was welcome! The balcony was tiny, mostly taken up with the AC unit. The shower door was inclined to...

The bathroom in room 51 is very old and unclean. There is also a problem with the sewage and you can check the photo attached. The bath tub filled with dirt when we were having a shower and simultaneously using the tap.

We apologize for the bad experience this caused you. Please note that all our rooms and bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned and prepared before all new arrivals. Our plumber informed us that the unpleasant issue you experienced was caused by guests throwing paper in the toilet (which often results in this type of problem in many old Athenian houses and in...

Stayed at the Art Gallery Hotel for 5 nights and loved it. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the quiet side street. The Acropolis, Plaka, restaurants and the subway station were walking distance, everything so close. In fact we could see the Acropolis from the terrace where we had breakfast. The breakfast buffet was small, but it...

Situated in a side-street with free on-road parking (found ok, or paid nearby too I believe), this is a quirky little boutique hotel that was a delight to find. Situated literally just around back of the Acropolis Museum, it is tucked away in an excellent location on a street few tourists venture, and therefore no visible signs of ‘tourist-hell’ of...

If you're looking to save money in Athens, but you still want a decent hotel and you want to be near the action, you can't beat this place. It really is just a few blocks down from the Acropolis, and the neighborhood is lively but overall not loud at night (we stayed for four nights, and there were a lot...

The location could not be better, below the Acropolis and in easy walking distance to sites and restaurants. The reception is very friendly and the breakfast plentiful, if unchanging. The rooms were charmless and inconsistent in quality.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a budget friendly family-run Hotel centrally located in the Acropolis area of Athens. We began our operation back in the early 80’s when a family member and architect converted our family residence into today’s Athenian home enjoyed since by thousands of our guests. Our Ηotel is well-situated in a safe neighborhood of the up-and-coming Koukaki district of Athens. We are conveniently located near the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the many interconnected archaeological sites of significance, most of which can be easily reached on foot or via our nearby metro and tram stations or by bus (all a few minutes away). Furthermore, the bustling pedestrian alley just down our street offers convenient access to a variety of enticing restaurants, tavernas, bars/pubs and cafes. ... more   less
