OMG! Think "luxury" youth hostel with a private bath. A miniature tub/shower combo that is incapable of safe use. A view to be sure so long as you can ignore the room that frames it. The many good reviews defy explanation.

There is no place like this in Athens, staff is very kind and helpful, they will do everything for you to fell comfortable during your days in the hotel, also is pretty close the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, and also to one of the most touristic streets on Athens, when you can eat since typical Greek food to Mediterranean food...

Undoubtedly the outstanding element of this Hotel is the amazing view of the Acropolis from its rooftop. As an artist I was able to take advantage of this for day and nighttime paintings. The staff were very friendly Food was ok at breakfast-but need to time attendance as can be a bit crowded-not a big issue

A fine hotel. Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. We were at the end of a month long trip, and had a few things we wanted to do in Athens, but wanted to relax as well. This was a great place to stay for all we wanted.

Stayed for two nights. Room was small but very clean. Walls are not soundproof at all just a warning!! It's in a great and accessible location with a beautiful rooftop. Kind and helpful staff and lots of options for breakfast. Loved the shower in our room, made everything better.

Booked a room 'with a view' and had zero complaints. Clean walls and floors, a comfortable two-person bed, a balcony with a great view at the Acropolis and a wonderful overlook from the rooftop on the southern part of Athens. The hotel has an elevator, there's a free WiFi internet connection (great signal at the room) and the people running...

The hotel is very accessible/near to the Acropolis with a great view of it at the top. It is also near to other touristic spots, restaurants and public transportation. The staff are accommodating and helpful. The room is nice and clean although a little noisy because it is not soundproof.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
