This was a nice hotel for a one day stopover in Athens from a Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel is located a short distance from the Parthenon and offers beautiful views of the Parthenon from its rooftop restaurant. We had a standard room which was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. The neighborhood seemed somewhat mixed residential and business...

Stayed at this hotel before a cruise in November with my family and we all thought the hotel was faultless. The hotel is perfectly located, five minutes from the acropolis and some excellent bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional and the rooms we were allocated were excellent. Breakfast was high quality with plenty of choice and well...

If my stay at the Divani Palace Acropolis had not been included in my tour package, I probably would not have stayed there because of the expense. I try to travel economically and there are plenty of cheaper options in the area but nowhere near as nice. The rooms are very clean as well as nicely outfitted and everyone I...

We had a weekend in Athens and we stayed at Divani Palace Acropolis. The hotel is in a perfect location, 5 minutes walking from the acropolis. Reception is very nice with beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre watches attached. The staff at reception has been really kind and nice. The room was nice but I wouldn't rate it at 5 stars, "only" 4. It...

Stayed there for one night in July. Large rooms, but a bit outdated. Small swimming pool in the patio. Walking distance to Acropolis and variety of restaurants near by. Ok for one night pit stop but a bit shabby for longer stay.

Our room had a view of the Acropolis so that offset the other issues. The room was well worn and in need of a facelift but the worst part was no A/C, just hot air. With the patio door open the street noise is excessive as is the noise level in the hallways. People talking, doors slamming and we could...

My room could definitely do with a facelift. Breakfast was OK and staff was very friendly and helpful. They directed us to a very nice restaurant and gave good and immediate service. The main reason for the 3 stars was the fact that despite an outside temperature of 25 degrees, airconditioning was not available any more ... only "hot air"....

Wonderful hotel with excellent service! Immaculate clean and great staff. View is excellent and close enough to tourist destinations. I would give this a 5 star rating. Pool area is excellent as is the spa area. Food was very good as well. I can't find anything negative to say.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
