Flying visit to the big olive so not too fussed. Good location for getting around, just a few minutes off Ommonia Square. Reception seemed frantic at all times. The room - was small no view, but hey you are in a city, and even 10 floors up there was a wall opposite. Who looks out of the window all the...

Just returned from Greece. I have stayed at Titania for 4 nights.Titania's staffs are professional and polite. The breakfast is great. Even it locates around Omonia square, l felt pretty safe walking around at night. The location is convenient to visit museum or Plaka. This hotel is not new, so some rooms not reserved for non-smoker have slight smell of...

First, if you enjoy air conditioning in warm weather- find another hotel. Simply did not work in either of the two rooms I stayed in on two separate evenings. In a safe neighborhood- easy walk to Constitution Square. Quick one stop metro to the Plaka- or you could walk in 20 mins. Breakfast buffet was crowded but food was fresh...

Have had the misfortune to stay here and have had 2 rooms with a view of the air-conditioning plant, 1 on a level with it. Cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom, dirty, chipped and cracked paintwork, chipped and broken furniture, mould, stained baths, no noise insulation room to room, holes in the bedding, broken hairdryers and of course the all...

We stayed here Sept. 22 - 23, 2014. This hotel is in a fairly good location, a 20 minute walk to the Plaka. I would choose something a little closer if possible. It's a long walk back at the end of the day, after you've been walking all day. Also, our room was just average, with a view of walls...

Clean, great breakfast, good restaurants, near the subway with easy access to the airport rather than a 35 euro cab ride. Wifi in the room was very expensive but free for an hour in the lobby. In the heart of downtown Athens.

The hotel is well located, 5 minutes both from omomia and panestimios metro stations (red and green lines) and 15-20 minutes walking distance from monastiraki and plaka. The lobby of the hotel is huge and elegant but the rooms did not meet the expectations as far as they are very small, especially the bathroom. The moquette in the corridors is...

Our room was on the second floor (243) and while it wasn't the nicest looking room, the lobby presented itself well, the breakfast offered every morning included a great variety of foods, the Olive Garden restaurant upstairs was tasty, but the comforters were thin, beds weren't comfortable, and room had a view of a warn down office building but in...

Front desk less than helpful. Not very friendly. Wifi expensive. Mold in bathrooms. Breakfast was OK but a bit disorganized. Olive Garden restaurant is the only reason to visit this hotel. Room at the front of the hotel is best but can be a bit noisy.

My room smells like a cross between sewer gas and mold. Mattress is like plywood. This property was renovated a year ago. Garish colors in the hallways. Rooms are spartan with tiny TV's. Typical European breakfast menu -- good choices. The best part of this hotel is the rooftop 11th floor restaurant and bar called Olive Garden. It looks directly...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
