One word, WOW!. OK, there are fancier hotels in Athens and there are better views and maybe better locations; so why the WOW? Room was comfortable, the cantina is open ALL day for breakfast, every morning the manager speaks with every guest to insure their stay is going well and it is located directly across from Vintage Bar and Bistro....

Affordable with a caring staff. They prepped breakfast for us at 3:30 in the morning before our trip to the airport. We were just blown away by their service! Cute, quaint room. Enjoyed the balcony with view of acropolis!

Location couldn't be better in Athens/Acropolis area. Price was quite inexpensive. Great breakfast buffet included, free coffee throughout the day, ultra-friendly helpful staff. Served as a perfect base of operations for Athens tourism.

Stayed at the Plaka for four nights with friends. On arrival we checked in very quickly and efficiently and were allocated rooms on the fifth floor. Our rooms were standard ones and suitable for our visit, basically we needed somewhere to sleep and shower etc. The rooms had twin beds, a wardrobe, shower and toilet etc, Tv, and telephone. The...

This hotel is a little gem. Centrally located, it gives easy access to so many of the historical sites of Athen. The view of the Acropolis from the rooftop is just a sight to behold. Helpful and friendly staff plus free coffee and biscuits every afternoon.

We chose the Plaka as a result of research on Tripadvisor, It's the type of city hotel we prefer, small, central and friendly. Right from the first moment at the hotel the staff were great. The hotel was very clean and although our room was small, it was perfectly good for a short visit. Ecerything you need for an Athens...

There is a Supermarket around the corner. Good breakfast selection and snack/coffee bar available throughout the day until 530pm at no extra charge. Staff are very helpful especially with our baby. Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
