Was located walking distance to everything. We got an old room thats needs to be updated. The shower leaked all over the floor as the shower door didn't have a seal?! The roof top is magical but no ambience. The bed was comfortable and bedroom...More
I am not sure how or why this hotel is receiving the excellent reviews it is getting. This hotel is not excellent, but marginal at best. I booked a triple room for me and my 2 children. The third bed was actually a rollaway bed....More
We arrived in Athens for the first leg of our Greece holiday and we were immediately upgraded to a room with a balcony which was great! We had elected not to pay extra for a room with a view, and the view from the rooftop...More
We stayed at the Plaka hotel on our last trip to Athens, and we were so pleased to be able to stay here again this time. The central position of the hotel puts it a max 5-10 minute walk from every major attraction and close...More
We had stayed at this hotel 5 years ago mainly because of its location and the great view of the Acropolis from the roof terrace and some of the rooms. The rooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. The air conditioning is very...More
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a
number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.

The last time I visited (September 2017), the Plaka Hotel did not have an evening dining room. A very generous breakfast buffet is included in your room rate during the morning and complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate/water and biscuits are available through out the day until 5:30 pm....at which time a delightful roof top terrace bar opens. The roof top terrace provides one of the most spectacular views of the sunset over the City of Athens and of the illuminated Acropolis. There are so many restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel that offer an array of traditional and contemporary Greek cuisine, as well as vegan, European, and international fare, from super-cheap to fine dining.
