We chose Plaka Hotel for our 4 night stay in Athens because of the excellent price and can't-be-beat location. We had a room with a balcony (we didn't pay for Acropolis view) and could just peek around the corner and see the Acropolis. We were on the 4th floor. There is a small elevator, but most of the time we...

We are staying 3 night here. It is a fabulous location. Incredible buffet breakfast, comfy clean rooms & friendly staff. We walked to the Acropolis from here & visited many interesting sites on the way back. It is in the heart of s busy tourist area so you can hear noises from in & outside. Beware the lift is little...

Prime location (a 5-minute walk from Monastiraki metro station which is on the direct line from the airport), comfortable room + bathroom and decent breakfast (although the room was congested around 930am). We paid extra (€371 total for 3 nights - Sun/Mon/Tuesday) for an Acropolis view - from the 6th (top) floor - see pictures. We never found the rooftop...

First things first...if you've booked this hotel and wonder what it will be like, the good news is that you'll be satisfied...so don't travel anxious... Here's what you need to know (good first...): 1. The hotel is perfectly placed...a couple of minutes walk from Monastiraki metro station and right in the (mainly) pedestrianised Plaka area. 2. The view from the...

Situated in the old Plaka district with a stunning roof top view of the Acropolis this hotel is really worth a visit. Maybe not newly renovated, but the location, the helpfullness of the staff and the nice breakfast makes the difference. Og there with the family - rooms can be attached.

The Plaka is perfectly located in the centre of Athens. Just about everything you would want to see is within walking distance. If not, the metro is very nearby. Apart from the location, the hotel's strong points are the friendly and helpful staff and the wonderful view from the roof terrace. I would say that the hotel is starting to...

Fantastic hotel, neat, safe, comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was brilliant and the free coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate throughout the day was a great bonus. Perfect location with a great rooftop view of the Acropolis. Also a huge bag of laundry was only 9€. Would definitely recommend staying here when you visit Athens.

I just had to write this review while we're still at the amazing Plaka Hotel! We have been here for 7 days seeing all of Athens. This hotel is a travelers dream. First of all, the location is ideal, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, great shops, little markets and great little touristy stores. Our room on the 3rd floor; wonderfully comfortable...

This simple hotel was an outstanding place to stay to explore ancient Athens. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the major sites and even closer to a wide choice of restaurants and cafes. Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
