Staying in this hotel at present. There is a leak of water from the bathroom roof. When I reported it to reception, I was advised nothing could be done as it's Sunday today. Will see it tomorrow. WiFi is erratic, does not work intermittently. No tea coffee making facility present in the room. Only good thing about the hotel is...

This is a simple, modern hotel in a very quiet street on Filopappou Hill. It is well-located for the historical part of downtown Athens, including the Acropolis Museum, and there are a number of good restaurants within walking distance. I was in room 607, which was on the top floor. The room was small, but had everything necessary for a...

Picked this hotel for the location and it didn't disappoint. Easy walking (if you don't mind hills and steps) to just about everything, yet on a quiet road across from a park. Rooms a bit cramped, but modern and clean. We had a balcony with a view of the Acropolis. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Reason for choosing: I found that this was a well-priced hotel with excellent rating, around a very beautiful area. Reason for disappointment: Poor service, unacceptably small rooms (the bed and closet should at least fit in the room and be usable), unwilling reception, average breakfast, terribly naked wall-view outside the breakfast room (by the pool!), ecologically unthoughtful policies, claustrophobic elevator....

Booked this as struggled to get a place to stay . It was perfect location...just a short walk from the Acropolis, the Acropolis museum and a lovely green hillside. Would recommend. The breakfast was good, continental with some eggs and sausage but good choice. Very clean and modern room. The rooftop terrace looks over athens and my room looked out...

I visited Athens with my family in the first week of November. It happened to coincide with the original Greek marathon in Athens which was pretty exciting! The hotel was alright, looks nice from the outside and the sofas and bar area downstairs are pretty cosy. The location is very good as it is about 5 minutes walk from Acropolis....

Great location, only 5 minutes walk from the Areopagus and the Acropolis. Lovely view of the Acropolis from the terrace especially at night. Nice breakfast. Room a bit tight for space but nice bathroom. Hotel Bar a bit limited. Wifi excellent.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
