My stay at the Bay Beach Resort on Koh Samui was mixed, with both positive and negative aspects to consider.
The rooms in the resort are nice and quiet overall, but the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired and is in dire need of renovation. The entrance door turned out to be very windy, which affected comfort. Unfortunately, the refrigerator in the room did not work as expected. Small visitors in the form of ants on the desk were unpleasant, but not a major nuisance.
The pool, on the other hand, was a highlight, very attractively designed and always clean. The beach area with its own loungers and its own restaurant offered a pleasant atmosphere.
The staff at the Bay Beach Resort were friendly and helpful, which contributed to a positive overall impression. The laundry service offered was also practical and carried out reliably.
Unfortunately, the hotel gym was old and not in good condition, which could be disappointing for those who are active in sports.
In summary, the Bay Beach Resort on Koh Samui offers nice and quiet rooms, an attractive pool and friendly staff. However, the bathroom and the hotel gym need renovation.

It’s not often we visit somewhere more than once while on holiday as there’s so many different places to try but for bay beach resort, we made an exception. The beachside setting is beautiful, service is brilliant, there’s a good variety of choices on the menu, the food was delicious (as were the cocktails!) and good value for money. They have live music nights, unfortunately, we missed these- heard great things about the open mic night from others though! You can rent their sun loungers on the beach for the day for 150B each. We did this for a change from the hotel one day. They have really comfortable loungers just steps away from the clear, shallow sea and close to water sports. It had a really chilled vibe and we wish we’d done it earlier in our stay as we’d have definitely done it again. There was a basket of buckets and spades for the kids to borrow and an outdoor shower to rinse ourselves off before we left. Not forgetting the amazing Thai massage on the beach too! James is a perfect host, always had time to stop and chat. On our first visit, within minutes he had Abba playing for our SEN daughter and remembered her love of their music on subsequent visits. He is really keen to share his ideas for the future of the resort and get feedback from visitors. James’ wife, Harriet was also a firm favourite of Lily’s!! We stayed in a neighbouring 5* hotel but would seriously consider bay beach resort for a future stay.

Best hotel Iv stayed on Samui and Iv stayed in many. My room was beautiful overlooking the pool. Nice furniture, good water pressure, bed was so comfortable not too hard not too soft ( struggle to get any good beds in Thailand usually rock hard !). Also a large TV which has netflix and youtube built in with perfect WIFI signal. Cleaners come everyday do a good job.
Pool was lovely with comfy chairs and really comfortable bean bags and hotel is on the beachfront. The beach here is not overcrowded and the water is beautiful and clear and you have a good selection of bars and restaurants alongside. The hotel restaurant had beautiful food and staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great, great selection of hot food, and 2 staff cooking eggs anyway you like them. Great fresh coffee too !
Hotel has a band on twice a week which was a really good band and enjoyable to listen to.
Outside on the high road it is nicer I find than other areas on samui. Supermarkets, nice bars, nice traditional Thai restaurants literally 1 minute walk from hotel. Rent a bike outside too. Perfect really.
James and Harriott who run the hotel are extremely welcoming and just very down to earth and friendly. They are always around making sure everything is OK at the hotel often having nice chats with the guests. 5 stars.

This lovely hotel dose exactly what you want. Firstly the location is perfect and on such a beautiful beach! We stayed in one of the bungalows and waking up and being steps away from beach was honestly amazing! The room was cleaned to a high standard and had everything you could need! The beach restaurant serves great food, ingredients were fresh and at a reasonable price! All staff were friendly and happy to help. Ing on reception helped us with trips and recommendations on fantastic things to do while in koh samui. Already planning our return

Lovely place by the beach and had the most gorgeous meal in the restaurant. We heard about their open mic night and decided to give it a go and so pleased we did. It was fab and the standard of musicians was incredible, would highly recommend it. Great variety of food and drink in the restaurant too; one of our party has a serious nut allergy and the chef and staff were so accommodating and took all precautions as requested. The resort we are staying at were sadly unable to accommodate completely nut free food which was very disappointing so finding places who will do this really helps. Beer was served ice COLD too and the rose wine! The added bonus was seeing the beach dogs and how the locals look after them, heartwarming. This is a beautiful spot and well worth a visit.

We have been coming here for many years and recommended this place to many of our friends. The old owner was a kind Thai man and the bungalows were basic but great. Authentic Thai feel. Now leased by English couple that are all about the money. The bungalows have been upgraded which is nice. The constant construction whilst on holidays is very disturbing on numerous occasions I had to ask them to stop the noise. Music starts at 8 am. Restaurant never open for dinner and breakfast is cheaper and delicious in a restaurant called A and B across the road. Beach is still our favourite but will stay in other bungalows next time.

Beautiful hotel, great pool, right by the sea! Room slightly dated but nicely decorated and big! Perfect for three big suitcases. Pool is really nice including toys and enough parasols and sun loungers. Just a few steps to the sea and right there is the white (a bit dated but) nice restaurant. On the beach there are sun loungers of our own, unfortunately we never got one. Kraft Raum is a nice change on vacation. The hotel has a great location, right by the sea and in the evenings surrounded by a lively street with restaurants and Seven Eleven.

What can I say about the Bay Beach other than it’s a little slice of paradise. Obviously the location is a winner, bang on the beautiful beach. The rooms are spacious, clean and with good air con. The real stars of the Bay Beach are the staff team, everyone has a smile, a joke and always give the best service. The food is wonderful, plentiful and good value. The resort has on live music nights, the best being Funk Baby and friends which brought lots of musicians together for a fantastic night. James and Harriet are very welcoming hosts and clearly run an amazing establishment, we stayed a week before moving on and I am very sad to be leaving. Well done Bay Beach, keep doing what you do! Keep 4 Singha’s on ice for us

Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff and a brilliant menu - something for everyone from delicious smoothie bowls to a great Thai menu. My daughter was a big fan of the Hawaiian pizza and said it was the best she’s ever had! I can recommend the large pina coladas that come in a coconut

Arrived after a long journey on a Sunday evening to be warmly welcomed in true Thai style. A leisurely shower then shown to the dining room. Nothing spectacular except the setting. But a place where substance trumps appearance. A plate of steamed greens, large, extraordinarily sweet and moist prawns, steamed sea bass stuffed with aromats. The delicious morsels of belly flesh alive with the aroma of lemon grass. All served with a traditional bowl of steamed rice and prik Nam pra. Thailand as I want it and I would like it to remain. Unpretentious, warm and steeped in a depth of inherited skill that only ancient cultures bring
