The place was lovely. A 5x3 meter pool and a very nice outdoor space. We loved every day in the villa.
The cleaning lady was always happy and smiling.

I don´t think it had beed used for a while before we mooved in, because the water coming out of the water tap was red when we opened the first day and only one of them was working. The water kept smelling rusty for all 3 weeks we stayed there. But my husbond fixed the taps that was broken, so everything was fine afterwords (except the smell).

Also the cabins in the kictchen smelled muldy, but maybe it is because it is an outdoor kitchen.

The reception was not 5 stars. It says that it is open from 9-19 and yes, the door is open. But the reception is empty.
If you want in contact with the lady who is supposed to be there, you have to write to her. And then it takes ½-1 day befor she answers.

She also forgot to inform us that there was a full day whitout power, so when we got out of bed in the morning, the AC, shower and toilet was not working. If we had known that, we would have got out of bed earlier.

When we arrived in the airport the hotel taxidriver was no where to be found. We called the hotel and they asked us to take a taxi and they would refound the taxibill. We gave them the bill, but never got the refound. We thaught we would get it at checkout..... But again... the reception was empty when we left.

So... The place is awsome and beautifull, as long as you dont have to use the frontdisk for help.

Samui boat lagoon was full when we arrived so they moved us to the sister hotel Blue Orchid. 25 min walk to beach. 15 min down a large hill to restaurants. Lovely villa, private pool Bedroom upstairs and great facilities but either pay taxi to take you out for food, order take out or take the long dark walk
Disliked · Location not so great if you want to explore

This was our first visit to Koh Sumai, and we chose this resort for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. We were not dissapointed. The apartments are spacious, modern and clean, with your own plunge pool. Reception were helpful, with free airport transfer, and free ride to and from the local beach. It is a steep climb to the resort. We climbed it every morning after having breakfast locally, but not in the evening after our dinner out. Thoroughly recommend.

This property fell a long way short of what is promised on the web listing. Dirty, plumbing diabolical, shuttle to the beach did not exist, housekeeping only twice a week poor standard of cleaning by staff who were indifferent, pool only cleaned twice in four weeks. Location was poor up very steep hills. Manager helpful when there which was very infrequent. When we arrived there was no fridge, quickly provided, hot water heater broken had to be replaced. Big problem with mosquitoes, flying ants and grass hoppers. Bed linen and towels stained and dirty even after being replaced. Bare minimum of crockery for two people, some missing. Only redeeming feature was that the internet was good but it is in most places in Thailand. We would not recommend this property under any circumstances and regret our choice.

This was our second time staying here. The villas are clean and well maintained. The private pool in the villa is clean and maintained well, the kitchen area is fitted with everything needed from microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. The bedroom and bathroom is above the ground floor and good size with amazingly big window looking out over Choeng Mon Beach with its amazing sunrises.
Its about a 10min walk to the Main Street and 15mins to the beach, the resort know arranges courtesy minibus to its sister resort Samui Boat resort with a main pool by the beach also.
We stayed without having transport and it all worked well for us. Would highly recommend this if you want quiet, and privacy. But note to his is self catering but restaurants nearby do deliver.

A handful of private villas make up the Blue Orchid, hidden of the main road, you are not walking to far without needing a cab. The staff is great at pre-arranging cabs, or get a Grab to jump where you want to go. There are plenty of 7-Elevans and Family Marts to get food. The big buddha is also near. The staff here is more than accommodating, the outdoor space is nice, two bottles of water per night come with the room. There is wear noticed in the rooms from the rust in the water, which is a shame since it is nicely designed!

We stayed in villa no. 8 for 14 nights and can honestly say that the villa was fantastic. The aircon and WiFi were excellent. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and the kitchen had everything that was needed to make breakfast or a quick snack. We ate out every night and restaurants are within a five minute walk. The location is great and is only a short 10 minute walk to the beach. If you have mobility issues then this accommodation is not for you as the slope back to the villas is taxing in the heat. We used the laundry service offered by the villas and it was excellent. Everything washed, ironed and delivered efficiently.
Really cannot fault the villa, pool or location. Would stay here again!

The view from the bedroom overlooking the sea and the sunrise every morning was amazing. The space in the lower part of the villa of the kitchen and size of the pool was fantastic. The privacy of not being overlooked is ideal if you want for a secluded break. It's close enough to the main street of Choeng Mon Beach with its numerous shops, restaurants, massage parlours and beach. The upper part of of the villa consisted of the bed overlooking the beach in the distance from a window the width of the property, the shower was big and so was the bathroom facilities at the rear of the room, wardrobe space was a little limited and the room could have done with a chair. Wifi was acceptable and the aircon was of a good standard, however if you wanted to sit out around the pool the din of the aircon unit was fairly loud against the quietness if the area.

However, The location away from the Main Street of shops and beaches was up a long inclined road. After my wife's hip operation this was a problem for us to get around, and had not appreciated this when booked, Ideally with this property we should have booked a car. The bed, we found was too hard, but again this was a personal preference. We found the resort to be a little too quiet and secluded, but again that was our preference. We had read previous reviews, but hadn't appreciated the inclined road, not good for anyone with a disability.

Nice and quiet, private villa with own pool.

Booked a scooter through reception for 200baht per day, which was reasonable considering the quality of scooter we were given.

No way to get ice from reception
Needed to ask if they can bring us an ice trays so we could try make our own With bottled water

Booked through Expedia where it said breakfast is included
But front desk said it wasn’t as they don’t have restaurant onsite.

They have room service from a restaurant down the road. Food was ok from here.

There was a big storm one night and we lost power, with it cutting in and out constantly. The staff tried to fix our villa first but it still took them some time.
We were more concerned about the food and drinks we had in the fridge.

Outdoor kitchen was nice but there were lots of mosquitoes about during the day. Being pregnant I had loaded up on the repellant wrist bands, spray etc. My poor husband got bitten a number of times whilst spending time outside in the pool.

The villas could do with a little refresh but for the money we paid, it did the job.

Also is you enjoy sun baking by the pool, pick your time. We got maximum sun in the morning before the villa completely shaded the pool area.

As soon as you reach the main rd from your villa you can get a Songtaew, Just wave and they will stop and tell the driver where you want to go and discuss a price! it`s not expensive or if you do not want to wave then mostly every Songtaew that goes past will beep at you as they want your business. Shops and restaurants are close! For shopping go to another town as you can buy your normal holiday items from the main high street, a 7/11 and a family mart are close by and lots of bars and restaurants. prices will be cheaper to eat and drink along the high street than on the beach. Hope you have fun like we did..
