Do not stay here! This is not a bed and breakfast! Everything listed about this so called bead and breakfast is not true. I trusted the positive comments about this place here on hotels.com, but after being there myself I can't even understand why there are any positive comments about this place at all. Read also other comments on trip...

i loved this place, not convencional at all. It was perfect for one night., We had to take a connecting flight so we stayed for one night in brussels and we just made the perfect choice, it's in the center, close enough to the airport (taxis are very expensive in Brusells) I liked that it was decorated so personally, artistic...

Picked The Phileas Fogg after some considerable research. It looked good online, was in the right location and reasonably priced. I made a confirmed booking but when I arrived (after a 24 hour journey) was told that I'd been moved to another location because they'd now received a longer booking for the room! Had to tramp through the streets with...

I sometimes travel to Brussels for work and I'm quite fed up with the expensive and characterless hotel experiences. I tried this time if there's something a bit more personal, and I loved the experience. Sure, it is the kind of place that you might end up hating if you dislike there being a friendly dog, or that there's no...

This Bed and Breakfast is nothing like advertised. It is in a really dingy condition, the neighborhood is sketchy, our bed was extremely uncomfortable, the room isn't insulated at all (you can hear all noise from all neighborhoods crystal clear), and management was extremely inconsiderate to guest needs. We stayed in several accommodation in Brussels, and this was by far...

This apartment is not as presented. Poorly equipped...the bed is on cinder blocks which you trip iver if you get up in the night.,, was promised free breakfast but then the manager said it would be 84 euro charge for the 4 of us. Not nice people and it is located in a very ethnic neighborhood and a tough walk...

Sad to read this review, as the bed is a typical Japanese style design bed, misunderstood obviously by these clients; hated by some, loved by many. As for the breakfast charges, they were very well aware breakfast was incl. and my new assistant confused with another booking system. We never charged extra for breakfast and cleared up the misunderstanding. As...

We stayed at Phileas Fogg for several days, in two different rooms, in June 2014 at the beginning and end of our 12-day trip to Belgium. It's located in a quiet residential neighborhood within easy walking distance to the center of Brussels and close to the subway and trams. It's calm, comfortable and homey. The beds were very comfortable and...

We stayed here for a couple nights in December and really enjoyed the experience! The owner was super friendly and helpful - we really enjoyed the delicious breakfasts in the morning with other guests (i could eat speculoos forever!!). The room was nice although we were a bit disappointed when we found the 'ensuite' room we had booked had a...

We stayed at The Phileas Fogg for 3 nights, and could not have been more impressed! The hostess/owner, Karin sat with us over Breakfast each morning, and couldn't have offered better hospitality. What a delightful surprise! Karin has a wealth of knowledge on Belgian history, and a particular fondness for Brussels. She shared with us all the BEST things to...

I went to Brussels in March 2014 and stayed in the Phileas Fogg BnB for two weeks. I specifically wanted to stay in a BnB rather than a hotel or something similar, because I wanted more of a personal experience. I was specifically looking for a place where you will be treated as part of the family. I was not...

“A good room would be in entirely different establishment. Try a real hotel. If this is least expensive option, pay a little more so your trip to Brussels won't be ruined like ours was.”

“Some rooms are small while others are larger, and not all rooms have a in-suite bathroom so if that's important to you be sure to ask Karin about alternate rooms if you don't want to use the common washroom, when the house gets full that means sharing it with a few others and not everyone is cool with that. Lastly, an important tip on booking-- I strongly suggest that you go to her website and contact her directly to book a room. It typically takes about 24 hours before she even receives notice of a room booking from any online booking service and with only a few rooms to the house it can fill up suddenly. If you book the night before you arrive she can sometimes not even know until after you arrive!- she makes every effort to be there for an arrival but the online booking agents don't have important information such as the security code to get inside the house if she isn't there or even where your room is located in the house. I would never use an online booking agent for a B&B- for a Hotel that clearly has 24 hour staff and loads of rooms - sure, not a lot of risk there but contact her direct to book a room and make it easy.”
