Very good hotel. When you arrive at the hotel you find a poor building, brick wall, without style, it gives the feeling of a shabby, stale hotel. When you pass the revolving door everything changes: you find spacious, bright, warm rooms. It is a very clean, well-kept and quiet hotel. It is the 3rd time that I celebrate my birthday with a couple of nights at the Flor de Sal and I will repeat this year. It has already become a tradition. The best, without a doubt, are the rooms with sea views. The worst thing is that once you enter the room you don't want to leave it. The terrace is a total enjoyment; you can spend the afternoon in it. For me, the best thing is to sleep with the curtains open: lying down and being able to enjoy that ocean at night and at dawn is a brutal pleasure. And of course, a 10 for the room staff and also for the breakfast waitresses.

I give 5-stars for this establishment for a number of reasons:
1. Friendly and well mannered employees. All employees (front desk, restaurant, housekeepers, window cleaners, etc) have positive energy. 2. Helpful employees in so many ways. 3. Respectfully of my accommodation. 4. Room is very clean and spacious with the most gorgeous views of the atlantic. 5. Food in the restaurant is delicious, scrumptious and healthy. Seafood is fresh. Variety of selections on breakfast buffet. 6. Host/hostess in the restaurant are all accommodating and respectful. 7. Customer service from the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping I will rate 5-star. 8. The ambiance of the establishment has a good vibe and calming. 9. Location of the hotel is perfect setting to relax and unwind.
Based on my experience, Portuguese people, in general are fabulous and wonderful people. I would like to mention some names: Renata & Rodrigo (front desk), Elisa (restaurant) and Celmire (housekeeping). Thank you for being so accommodating, helpful and kind. Although I was not able to get all the names, I can say that everybody in Hotel Flor de Sal, I rate them all 5-star. I highly recommend this hotel/establishment.

The hotel is very well located and has an excellent sea view from the rooms and dining room. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and with all the amenities necessary for the stay. We stayed at this Hotel in our stay in Viana. The hotel and the room very comfortable and the service very friendly. The mistake was to take the room mountain side, overlooks a busy and very noisy street, the windows of the room are not double and you hear a lot of noise and you can not rest well. We asked for room change and did not want to change it because they said they were full, I have my doubts as we did not see many people at breakfast. The location of the oceanfront hotel is very nice, but it is very far from the city and next to the port with truck transit. My Recommendation is to take seaside room to be quieter and with better views, you would lack an outdoor pool as the beach is very airy h is full of seaweed, otherwise the hotel is generally okay.

Surprisingly great experience. The reception staff was wonderful and went beyond the call to help us when my husband got sick. True, the hotel is not located in a beautiful area, and didn't look like much from the outside - but WOW when you entered the expansive lobby you have a beautiful view of the sea. We are seniors, driving on our own, so were looking for a hotel that didn't involve negotiating the city streets, served breakfast and had free parking on site. It was raining hard when we arrived, so were pleased to know there is a restaurant there as well. It was a 4e Uber ride into the charming town center. Viana do Castelo is lovely. The hotel specializes in large groups (there were several well behaved young futbol teams there during our stay). The breakfast buffet was plentiful and diverse. We had a sea view room, with a balcony and two lounge chairs....if only the weather had been better!

Negatives a spa that we can not use because of all the hotels that we have been we have never seen the prohibition of children under 12 years old, since it is a family hotel with a child from 6 years old we can not go, indoor swimming pool in quite degraded state that has nothing to do with the hotel and above we have to share with people who are not from the hotel, pass by balnearios to get to the pool I think it makes no sense. Without a doubt, an excellent accommodation for a family break. The "Junior Mountain View Suite" room is very cozy and has plenty of space for a family of 4. Restaurant with good food, calm atmosphere, no fuss or noise and friendly staff.
