We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The room is very clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, but the best thing is the buffet breakfast with huge choice and good quality, attentive staff (for food intolerances), and the live piano music that accompanies the meal. There is also a relaxation area with a very pleasant swimming pool, jacuzzi and hammam. Free parking nearby at the port is a 5-minute walk away. We were very well advised by the staff on the surrounding restaurants. What more ?

For a 4 star hotel no hair conditioner no comb the body wash 3 in one was awful. The carpets should be cleaned. Breakfast at first told my son there were no waffles and when I asked they did have waffles. The coffee was terrible. Good location. The staff at breakfast unfriendly.

This charming and extremely well priced hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the main street in Viana do Castelo. The staff was lovely, the hotel charming. The room was spotless, and impeccably comfortable. The bathroom was also sparkling and everything functioned perfectly. Breakfast was lovely. The breakfast staff was cheerful and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed in this hotel twice and both times could not have been more pleased with this hotels helpful staff and amenities., including the extensive breakfast. The location on picturesque Largo do Vasco da Gama is central to beautiful Viana do Castelo and its best restaurants are easy walks from the hotel. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and large showers. There is no problem dropping off people and luggage at the front door, but free car parking is approximately 2 blocks away, which was not a problem.

Somehow on a one-night stay we unexpectedly were given a superb, large room on the front corner: a vast bathroom and three windows giving a great view of the quiet square below and the waterfront just beyond. Location is superb, easy access to all the central parts of this immaculate town, and the station. Excellent dinner in-house, good value on the half-pension basis. The Gil Eannes museum ship just in front of the hotel is a fascinating way to spend a couple of hours.

While visiting Viana do Castelo we went to try the buffet service at this hotel. For the price of €22.50 excluding the drink, the rating is acceptable. Little variety with a hot dish of lean pork belly and equally lean butter fish. Satisfying desserts, good coffee. Compared to other buffets, for example Sheraton Porto, Solverde Granja, very weak.
