This hotell is well located in the historical center within walking distance to shops, buss & train station, sea side walk etc.
The rooms was larger than in many other design hotels we visited and the cleaning was quick and well performed.
The breakfast was buffet style with many choices including both warm & cold food, cakes, fruit, cheese, fresh juice etc - very rich and good!
The staff was friendly and the owner Dona Rosa Maria was very helpfull and sugested us walking trails, good communications etc.
The only drawbacks one can mention with the hotel is that some fresh paint and new carpets could improve the experience further and that some English language news channel (CNN, BBC ...) would be a nice addition to the Portugese ones.

Absoluto design hotel is a very tipical and stylish small hotel right in the centre of Viana do Castelo. The venue is a mix between a converted town house and a palace but very modern and stylish inside. It is located right in the centre within a walking distance from all tourist spots. At the same time is very quiet and romantic, ideal for a couple or honeymoons.
Rooms are all different and in different colours. We stayed in the white one, called petroleo.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and always ready to help. We are a gay couple and always felt very welcome and special.
Breakfast is in a very cute room and quality was great. Fresh juices, several choices of cereals, breads, hams, cheeses. I have to score 4 stars for it. Little pearl in Viana. Definitely try it!,

Great location in an historic building. Architect design will appeal to some more than others. My main problems were that the bed was uncomfortable and unstable, moving every time my partner moved, causing a terrible nights sleep. There is nowhere to put your cases, so you have to unpack on the floor, but then there is virtually no hanging space and no drawers. Creating an unliveable space. It was raining heavily the day we got there and it was impossible to dry our clothes. The bathroom is tiny. You have to preorder your breakfast and what they serve is delicious, but the buffet is very limited. No muesli or granola. Also don’t think about changing your breakfast order for the next day or you’ll get a snarl!

Some pluses and minuses - but overall a good experience. Pluses would include a good central location that nevertheless gets you away from the very centre of town, important during the annual festivals. So when people say it's down a quiet street, be thankful. It's an old convent by the looks of it, converted into a modern hotel. The staff are very courteous and the rooms have great air conditioning and are clean and bright. Minuses I'd have to note are some of the design features. The bath behind the bed might be risky for anybody with mobility issues to climb into and watch where you aim the shower! The beds were really hard. That was quite a turn off. There's no lift so if your room is on the upper floor and you're not too strong, make sure you get help with the luggage.

This hotel is very hidden, there is no sign on the outside to indicate that there is a hotel here. We stayed in the Mar room. The room was clean and cute. Its not a big room, no closets or a wardrobe either. The bed was big and the mattress was comfortable. I am assuming that it was a medium for those who have backproblems. The room overlooked the courtyard which is nice. The air conditioning works well, a bit noisy though. We kept it at 20 celcius. The bathroom has a rainfall shower which is pleasant.

The front desk attendant Rosa Maria is a sweetheart. If you want to buy the luxourious table cloths or jewelery from the region, please ask her. She knows the best spots in the city

Well located, on walking distance to most of the city's landmarks and attractions. Parking was an issue, but we came on the town's busiest time of the year, so it was to expect.
Very friendly and thoughtful staff, which made our stay very pleasant.
Spartan yet comfortable room, minimal decoration featuring sleek design details was a personal favorite. Very good lodging experience, one would definitely come back.

It is a nice design hotel and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was good and with fresh fruits. I can recommend the hotel. Car parking is 150 m away and it is for free in the street.
If you stay in town, this hotel is a must.

The design element is key to the hotel's appeal. Nothing can be faulted on that element.

It is located in a quiet street just a few minutes from the historic centre of the town.

Lovely breakfast and helpful staff.

The only downside for us, was that as we prefer not to use air-conditioning, and thus need the windows open, we had too many mosquitos during the night. Bring an electric insect rellant and have the perfect stay.
