We stayed here over the weekend of L’Etape Portugal 2023 as we were riding in the event. It was the perfect base and we loved everything about the hotel. All of the staff made us feel so welcome and were so friendly. Particular mention must go to the Bike Center team, who accommodated all of our requirements for the race with the bike rentals, set-up and details. Nothing was a problem! Firstly, this is a mind blowing beach location and an absolute must. Value for money it exceeds expectations. Having worked in the luxury travel industry for 6 years I have a lot to compare it to. The staff were exceptional, food quality incredible and all our expectations that you would expect from a place like this were met. Most of all we felt so safe (from COVID) here with our kids for 7 nights.
Hotels have been forced to change the way they operate, logistics and staff training is now so important in maintaining a balance that delivers a quality service while meeting and exceeding the required levels of hygiene safety for COVID, and Feel Viana did exceptionally well for the first week after lock down. As a customer, accept that the logistics and operations have changed and be thankful that your hotel is taking it seriously, so if breakfast takes 5 or 10 minutes longer than you expect, it’s all to ensure your safety.
We arrived on the first day after Lock Down. Foot operated Hand sanitizer dispensers located at every room entrance, masks compulsory under roofs and in public spaces indoors, restriction of number users in areas, controlled but unobtrusive dining experiences, etc etc. Although these measures were put in place it did not feel any different to any other stay.
The rooms are lovely, the beach and sports are world class and the main hotel is more than you can imagine for the price.
I highly recommend staying here. I’ve lived here for 2 years now and it’s remarkable how Portugal and the people respected Lock Down and continue to put safety first. We will be returning to Feel Viana. It has everything you need and more.

Amazing stay, one of the best hotels I have been that combines perfectly sport activities and relax.
Sports:
Kitesurf and windsurf spot: I only practice kitesurf. The spot is pretty nice, beautiful sandy beach bay. wind is pretty reliance in summer months (I stayed 3 days with 3 days of wind), pretty strong, maybe not perfect for begginers but for anyone else is great. you have a flat water sport and a waves spots a few minutes downwind
The sport center is really good, they have latest models of North and cabrinha. Also for windsurfing (i think NP), they offer compressor and always is someone looking for your safety
Bike: there are more than 21 tracks of all kinds (km, trails, roads, etc...) every day is a bike tour with a pro. Bikes they have are amazing, i tryed an electric bike super tech and nice
The hotel: The hotel is simply amazing, staff is very nice, breakfas is fantactic and the restaurant is also very good.
The rooms are very nice and clean. I stayed at a bungalow, simple perfect (do not have sea views... but who cares)

We booked our stay for 2 nights for New Years Eve, it was an available option at booking and other operators and online.
Today it was cancelled not because there was no more rooms or because it was an error but solely because if I want to stay, I can but now I need to have dinner and party also in the hotel. Greed is never a good thing particularly when you sell one concept and then don’t live up to it.
That is not the message that I think FeelViana wishes to send or that it sells.

Improper cleaning of rooms, staff clearly poorly trained or not well trained, nauseating odors persisting around the outdoor swimming pool. Well-equipped sports center, but again some staff problems with a rather cold and very indifferent welcome. Only the Spa stands out, with a very pleasant welcome and quality services.

This hotel we found as our Mark Warner trip to Sardinia was cancelled. For about the same price we got Ryanair flights a hire car half board and guided morning bike rides.
The hotel is really nice with indoor and outdoor pools and a lovely bar terrace where you can have meals. Staff were fabulous and spoke excellent English and previous reviews have mentioned a lack of staff. The hotel was full when we were there and there was more than enough staff. Service was exemplary. Safety due to Covid was impeccable in all areas.
Carlos and Rodrigo led excellent rides every morning. We aren't into the watersports but there was a lot of facilties for all that.
Breakfast was tasty with good coffee and half board option was a small but interesting and well presented and delicious.
We had to leave earlier than planned and could not have been treated any more reasonably. We will be back.

We obviously booked for the sports but having done Nielsen / Mark Warner before, we were a little worried about the quality of the food / wine. We couldn’t have been more wrong. The sports are obviously excellent - the kitesurf instructors are fantastic and we also hired bikes for a couple of days which I can highly recommend. However, the big positive surprise here was the quality of the food and wine and what good value it was. House rosé at the beach bar was about 3EUR and very drinkable, and the house white / red also excellent. Huge thanks to Gue in the Taven restaurant who was impeccable and continually bought us crispy squid without judging. Would 100% return.

Wind season starts in May and goes until September, the best months are June, July and August.
On this beach we have thermal wind which causes it to increase compared to what Wind prediction sites states.

If you feel the need to rent a car once you are here, you can do it at the Hotel Reception, as we have a rent-a-car service at the Hotel.
Otherwise, if you will be mostly staying at the Hotel and visiting town, you can do well without a car - you can use the ferry, the bikes, walk or take a taxi (which is really easy and feasible).
However, if you want to explore the region around, then a car could be a good option. But again, you can easily decide it once here.
