The guest house was superb! The owner is very nice and friendly and gave us the room we wanted. The room is clean and it was very responsive to help us. The only downside is the front door and the room which are a bit hard to open maybe a code for entry would be better but that didn’t stop our weekend from being great! Great place to land in a beautiful city. The staff is very helpful. The room is spotless. We do everything on foot I recommend 200%. With a more than reasonable Award. Nothing wrong is perfect for a 3 night break.

This is a decent accomodation for the rate they charge. If you're looking to be waited on, this is not the place for you.
We stayed here for two nights and honestly, I don't think we could have done better. I was a bit worried when we first arrived, but I needn't have: Bernardino materialized seemingly from nowhere, opened the door for us once he realized we were his guests and then handed over the keys after helping us up the stairs with our luggage.
This is a former townhouse that has been converted into a guesthouse for tourists. Our room faced the front and was quite large and could easily accomodate four people (one double, a twin, and collapsible sofa bed). Decor is very basic. Bathroom is all up to date. It is not handicapped accessible, and there are a lot of stairs. It is very quiet and clean. The street it is located on is pedestrian only, so you do not need to worry about car noise.
There is a communal refrigerator and microwave for your use, but the room it is in was locked up after a certain time. So I do wish that there were some basic dishes and flatware we could have used--or even that the room was accessible around the clock.
It is centrally located--minutes of a walk to the local bus/train station, down the street from the main square, a block or less away from the funicular to Santa Luzia. There's a supermarket about three blocks away and several restaurants.
Note regarding the underground parking lot--there are three or four pedestrian access points and at least two vehicle entrances/exits. You can very definitely score a parking spot for €5. As soon as you have parked, you need to take your ticket to the manned "blue" booth. If you wait longer than fifteen minutes, then you will be charged by their hourly rates. But have it validated quickly and you are set at €5 for 24 hours.
I would definitely stay here again.

We were welcomed by a very nice young man. But this had suddenly disappeared. An elderly man showed us a room with a window into a shaft. That's not what we wanted. The second suggestion was a room in the attic without lift. Since I'm not good on foot, we asked for another room. That's when he said we'd disturb his siesta and we should cancel the room. Then he took our suitcases and put them on the road.

The guest house is very central. 34 steps up to our room but worth it. The beds were very comfortable and we had a private bathroom. The room was at the rear of the building so we had no noise from the street. The owner was very helpful in helping us locate a nearby lavandería and a restaurant actually open on Monday evening.

Very clean and updated. Stayed for only one night while walking the Camino. I would definitely stay again for a longer stay as it was centrally located in Viana do Castelo. The innkeeper was very kind and helpful and the price was reasonable.
This is not a hotel or B & B. It's clean, comfortable and cozy place to sleep at night. I also enjoyed sitting at the window looking out over the other yards in the neighborhood.

Lovely Little guesthouse, a really warm welcome from Bernardo the owner, right in the centre of this lovely city, he even supplied us with his car park space, nice touch!.
Nice room, comfortable bed.
The star of the show though is the city itself which is beautiful, traffic is kept to a. Minimum so it is lovely walking around admiring the stunning architecture.
Would love to return, we would live here if we could find a nice long rental!!!

I would especially highlight the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. They offer two types of pillows, one softer and one firmer.

Guest House in Viana do Castelo, surprising for its cleanliness, unbeatable location and very comfortable beds. They accommodated us in an “apartment” with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The only drawback is the stairs but the owner helped us get our suitcases up and down.
