The Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa garners praise for its elegant atmosphere and cleanliness, with many guests appreciating the modern and well-maintained accommodations. The spacious rooms are a highlight, though some travelers have encountered maintenance issues. While the staff's friendliness is often commended, experiences with service can be inconsistent.
Guests enjoy the amenities but are critical of the extra fees, notably for pool access, which has led to concerns regarding the hotel's overall value. The location receives mixed reviews, with its quiet setting being both a plus and a minus for visitors.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Sheraton for two nights and had two rooms in the hotel. It was an absolutely fantastic stay and the rooms and the full facility is exceptional.
Hotel: New construction and extremely well maintained. The common areas are grand with the bar on the ground floor being a popular choice for some of the residents in the evening. There is outdoor space as well which is very nice if the weather permits. There is an indoor heated pool which we only found out on the last day else would have definitely used. Spa services were reasonably p[riced considering it is a very premium hotel but we did not use.
Rooms: Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. The bathrooms have tubs as well as standing showers. Beds are very comfortable TV offers a wide range of channels as well as streaming capability. We had rooms on the first and second floor with no real views of anything except the street but maybe they have more views higher up.
Service: Excellent and very smooth check-in and check-out process. We had a discussion with the concierge as well to map out things we should do and he was very helpful. He even made us change our plans a bit to accommodate what he suggested which was very good advice.
Location: The hotel is a bit far from the city center and popular attractions, however, Uber is so cheap I would readily live here and just take an Uber to get anywhere.
We had breakfast on one day where the spread was very elaborate and definitely must have.
Overall, a fantastic stay, one I would be willing to do again or recommend to anyone visiting.

We stayed two nights in August 2020. The service is very kind, professional and Covid19 precautions were applied accordingly. Our Bonvoy Titanium Elite status has been recognised and were recognised and provided a room upgrade. The concierge lounge was closed. However, we had a breakfast buffet in a restaurant.downstairs. Snacks and beers/wine were served to our room throughout the day which was very nice. The "chef selection" meal was also served to our room during the happy hour. However portion sizes were small, so we suggest not to plan using it as a dinner replacement. The spa area is also open and amount of people is limited. We didn't need to pay for parking fees. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

I spent something like 30 nights at the Sheraton Porto and really enjoyed it. Overall, the hotel has very high standards and is an excellent choice for a stay in Porto if the location works for you. Points about specific areas:
The staff and service are generally very good. Front desk staff are friendly and highly competent. I was very impressed. Cláudia F, who is responsible for Guest Relations, was absolutely fantastic during my stay. She is a great asset to the hotel who was very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to talk to her and she suggested some excellent local places to see. In the Club Lounge, there was a pleasant young lady from Mozambique called Aua (probably my mispelling) who was also very helpful and lovely to interact with.
The rooms are spacious, and all have decent work desks. Too many modern hotels have silly little designer tables instead of work desks, so it is excellent the Sheraton Porto has a proper desk to work at! The decor is classy and warm, and even the standard rooms are perfectly nice. Housekeeping standards are generally high.
Marriott Bonvoy treatment is good. As a Titanium member I felt the hotel made a strong effort to provide a good upgrade and I was very satisfied.
The Club Lounge is not large but has a nice balcony with distant sea views, and all day wine and beer, plus sparkling wine and port for cocktail hours. By the standards of European (as opposed to Asian) club lounges it's a good lounge. Food can vary - some nights the cocktail food is very high quality, other nights less so.
Breakfast in the main restaurant is solid. It's not a huge selection, and the eggs in particular can be rather lukewarm. However, it's a good solid hotel breakfast and sparkling wine is provided, which I think is a rather jolly thing.
The hotel is in a safe area a few metro stops away from the old center. It is a short walk to the Metro so personally I think the location is fine if you're prepared to use public transport. I had some drinks in town one Saturday night and the Uber back to the hotel at 1am was less than 5 EUR so even a taxi will not break the bank. There is a decent supermarket very close by which is handy.

Delightful stay at this hotel from check in to check out.
Staff are exceptionally attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure everything is fine, if not better than fine.
We stayed on the club level with access to the club lounge. The food and beverage selection was quite impressive. I enjoyed some lightly battered cod and salmon with a tomato and bean stew, accompanied by a selection of Douro valley wines and a nice glass of port with some delicious Portuguese sweets to finish it off.
I chose to have breakfast in the main restaurant on both days as I love a good omelette and a great selection of food to choose from. The lady at the omelette station was very warm and always wished me a good day while Bernard frequently asked in a gentle manner whether we needed anything else as he saw we were with children. He is definitely a rising star in the industry. The main breakfast area has a warm and inviting environment where you are welcomed by a friendly gentleman at the entrance who I believe was the manager.
The rooms are equipped with a large bath, which was perfect for the children, and the screen wall allowed them to watch the tv from the tub. The pillow cases were very soft for a Sheraton brand, which was a pleasant surprise, and I slept like a log on the mattress.
Location wise, it’s just outside of the old city, perhaps a 5 minute Uber ride or a 20 minute walk. I didn’t discover the surrounding area too much as it was raining a lot and we were pressed for time, so we stuck to the old town, but it is conveniently located close to the airport at around 11 minutes minimum.
All in all, a great hotel, and I hope to return in the future.
A special thank you to Rui, the front man of the hotel for his exceptional assistance.

This was one of the best experiences we had in a hotel ever!
We stayed for 10 nights - two rooms as our daughters joined us - and from our check in by Beatriz and André to our check out it was a perfect experience.
Located in the business district this was the perfect location for us half way between the main shopping street (€5 Uber) and seaside (€5 Uber).
The hotel is spotlessly clean and every time we arrived back the staff were hoovering the red carpet in the main foyer. Also the hotel housekeeping team would rate one of the best we ever encountered.
The Spa is beautiful and a wide variety of facilities that are constantly being cleaned. Everyone on the team there was extremely helpful.
The bar menu was varied, healthy and good value and very unusually we dined in the hotel most nights.
The breakfasts are amazing including champagne and the team were led by Catia who is a gem offering a warm, bright and uplifting welcome each morning.
Overall this was overall the beat 'team performance' we ever experienced in a hotel to date and great credit to the leadership who have obviously worked hard to create a great team atmosphere with super leaders in each area of the hotel.
Yes we will return as it was a sublime experience. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday so memorable. Bernard, Treasa, Aoife & Cliodhna

Spent a few days here in late April 2022 as a party of four. Two of our party were booked to the executive floor on a paid basis, the other two booked a premium room in the hope that as Platinum members we would be upgraded to an exec floor. Upon check-in inquired about the upgrade. "Sorry," we were told, "those rooms are all sold out." This was strange as the Marriott website showed those rooms to be available whenever the website was checked on each of the days were were at the hotel.
The restaurant has a buffet breakfast that offers many choices and is similar to other hotels in this class. Restaurant staff are pleasant and attentive.
Obviously not anyone's fault, but be aware that this hotel is not near the touristic, historic portion of the city. The hotel is located in a pleasant, residential, more contemporary area of the city. Fortunately, it is not too difficult to get an Uber to transport you to the more scenic and interesting areas.

First time staying at Sheraton Porto Hotel... Upon checking in, I asked staff if hotel provides complimentary breakfast for Marriott Gold member. Front desk staff was questioning me back if I selected room booking with breakfast. I was completely confused what staff tried to explain to me. Later on, I figured out that Hotel doesn't provide complimentary breakfast for Gold member. Basically instead of explaining back to me that there is no benefit for Gold member, Front desk staff was saying that I did not book the room right. I thought that was very negative reaction to regular supporting customer. I thought Front desk staff is something is wrong so I had to call manager. Then Front Office staff refused to call manager by saying that " I'm in charge in here "
In the room, there was only 1 complimentary water bottle and 2 mini capsule milk. So I called guest service and asked if I could get more capsule milk and 1 more complimentary bottle water because my husband is with me. Then staff said " NO " .
I really regret to book this hotel and will never stay here again. There are many nice and cheaper hotel in downtown main tourist area. I booked this hotel only because of Marriott gold member.

This is an excellent and very clean premium hotel. While a Sheraton hotel is indeed expected to be very clean and very tidy and take extra care with respect to the Corona virus, we got the impression that this hotel, like in the entire country, is taking the matter extremely seriously across the board. Indeed, all facilities are working properly, and even with a level of extra care because of the Corona virus. Admittedly, at times this may seem a bit exaggerated, but as a guest you feel safe and in a good environment. There is still buffet breakfast, the gym is working close to normal and even the swimming pool is functioning like a normal times. We felt very comfortable and very safe, even beyond what we would have expected for a Sheraton hotel.

I got upgraded to a very nice suite which was nice, and quiet. My suite had two closets, two televisions one in the bedroom, and one in the living room. Also, a toilet with a bidet there, bath, and a separate shower. i had a lot of draws for storage. One of favorite things in the suite was the button to press the drapes up and down which was so convenient.
The staff were very friendly, and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised to meet the General Manager when I checked in as she wanted to meet me.
the hotel is in the Business area of Porto but, you can take a bus, Metro, Uber, taxi or walk Downtown. I walked Downtown one day which was a long walk, The hotel is near the Crown Plaza.
At the breakfast buffet you should try traditional Portuguese pastry such as Nata a egg custard tart or even try something that I saw in Germany a Berliner donut which has egg cream in it.
Wow they even have a IT person at Sheraton Porto hotel as the Marriott Leeds last year did not have one.
I highly recommend that you go to the Spa as if you get a massage you get to use the sauna, and steam room at no additional charge. If you were on three flights to get to Porto the massage is very relaxing.

This lovely hotel reflects the warmth and hospitality of its city. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the service exemplary from the front desk to the amazing concierges. Situated in a residential area it is quiet but a quick and inexpensive ride or walk to nearly anywhere in Porto you desire to go. It is also close to the bona vista futbol field and if you have a chance, attend one of the games even if you aren't a huge fan of the sport.
Two cautionary suggestions: the people are so friendly that they will talk to you but the restaurant closes promptly at 10:30 and they will take
time speaking with you without waiting on you or mentioning the restaurant is closing and food stops promptly at 10:30 without exception. Also, if your room is not ready when you arrive you must check back frequently because there appears to be a shift change where staff rolls over and you have to begin again. These two things are minor but may be good to know ahead of time.

Yes they do
There is a concierge on duty who is very helpful
I attended a conference at this hotel and was not resident. So, I didn't "test" the hotel's offer to guests. I agree with others that Uber taxis were available and good value, so I would not use the hotel's taxi-ride service from the concierge.
