From the moment we arrived the very friendly owners, Pedro and Marta, went out of their way to make us welcome and were most helpful throughout our stay-Pedro's tips on what to see and do in Porto were particularly appreciated. The guest house itself is charming and beautifully restored, the bedrooms spacious and well-appointed.There is also a delightful garden at...

My sister and I were visiting Portugal for the first time, and the 2 days at Porta Azul was easily a highlight! The first night we arrived Marta was just a delight! She sat down with us, pulled out the map of Porto, and showed us where and what there was to see. She went on to describe walking distances...

This is a cute and friendly guest house/pension just outside the historic old town and directly across from the lovely crystal palace gardens (convenient parking beneath). Friendly and helpful hosts; right around the corner from the gallery row. Nice garden, nice breakfast. A very excellent vslue!

The most interesting guest house we have been to (so far). Downside, lack of parking ...thats it. The owners Pedro and Marta made sure we were genuinely welcomed and made more than comfortable in "their home". The situation is close to the centre of Porto and only a short(ish) walk to the river front. The room are clean and huge,...

We wanted some local flavour to our trip to Porto and we couldn't have made a better choice than Porta Azul. The owners Pedro and Marta are incredibly warm, welcoming and really seem like they want to make sure their guests enjoy their time there. They sit you down when you get there to show you the best places to...

We stayed at Porta Azul for one night but I wish we had planned to stay longer. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and took us through all the best tourist sites and restaurants that they recommended we visit. The place is really clean and a cool design with a shared garden space. We...

I'll keep this short: Marta and Pedro run one of the friendliest, most inviting guesthouses I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in HUNDREDS of hotels and inns over the years). Their dedication to their guests is truly impressive. I'd stay here again without hesitation, if only for the service. That said, the street noise was a problem, as was...

I had a wonderful time with Pedro and Marta. The house is superb, with a garden. The breakfast is made with very good products. And the day trip to the Douro valley is top, like spending a road trip with friends to discover the beautiful countryside and wineries.
