If you want a quiet, clean and well located hotel to sleep in Oporto, Hotel America can be a good option. In a walking distance to the center, this hotel has clean and quiet rooms, a good breakfast, parking and other facilities. A fair trade!

We chose this for the price and the location. We had 6 rooms, and all of us were OK with them. It is noisy (if you are close to the bar you will hear it, we were in 200 above the restaurant and heard some of that as well). The first night was really cold, but the heating worked and...

We originally booked hotel de norte but was told there was a pipe issue and got moved farther out from the main street to the hotel American. It was a horrible small dark room in the back of the building. Reeked of smoke. Had mosquitoes. Leaking bathroom. Old beds heels. Wifi does not work. Terrible experience. Stay away.

Had Room 307, very small but very quite. The air conditioner was great and required sleeping under blanket. The large shower head was broken and within 2 hours of my reporting it, they had fixed it. Also the television had English speaking channels. The free breakfast would improve if they would use bacon or sausage not hot dog wieners. Isabel...

We stayed in the apartment next to the main hotel building and my room was facing the back so I thought it would be peaceful, but I was very wrong. Come nightfall the music began with bass pounding through the floor from the nightclub below and they even opened the doors to their terrace so I was treated to dance...

The pluses attached to this hotel include the staff, who are helpful and multilingual, the wifi, the very adequate breakfast (though the hot water has a tendency to run out) and the rooms which are simple but fine. The chief minus is the location. There are two metro stations (one of them uphill, the other downhill) but neither are very...

The Hotel is located on the Santa Catarina street, which is connected to many touring places. The Hotel is located at the north part that is a bit away from the Duoro River, however within 10 to 15 minutes walk one can reach to the city center and to most of the places of interest in Porto. Surprisingly, the hotel...

Situated very close to the center of Porto (Oporto), Hotel America is easily accessible by car and on foot. They offer a parking on location for 10€ a night – keep in mind it’s a garage parking so it would be vise to check maximum height if you have a large car or baggage on the roof. Room was very...

Definitely value for money, the room was spacious and clean although a bit outdated. A plus of this hotel is that it has it own garage to park your car which is a big plus on this price range and in central Porto. The staff was nice and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
