We loved our stay at the Hotel. The place is very charming and the staff is very welcoming. To remark the explanations and attention given by Luis at reception and all the staff serving breakfast. Indeed we will come back again for a future stay in Porto. It is a quiet neighborhood just 10-15 walking from downtown.
Quite simply, this hotel is one of the most special places my mother and I have ever stayed in. We were given the jaw-droppingly beautiful room 133, on the 3rd floor of the castle, graced with our very own private terrace which was probably bigger than most people’s gardens! We would savour our morning coffee and tea whilst admiring the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, and downtown Porto, whilst reclining on the provided deck chairs. The sunsets were also breathtaking. It’s about a 25 minute walk into town (downhill). We always walked home (uphill) which was sometimes a challenge but a good way to work off all the delicious food we ate! Moreover, the guys at reception were so welcoming and professional. We felt immediately at home. Thank you to Nino especially who gave us all the best tourist info, and was always up for a friendly chat. Breakfast was very well organised in these precarious times. Food was brought directly to the table and you could choose from a number of freshly made warm dishes. The omelettes (particularly) were divine! We spoke to the owner/manager who helps out at every breakfast service, and it was clear how passionate he is about the castle. It really is so special. Thank you to everyone for treating us so well. I really hope we can come back! …
We are full of praise for this beautiful hotel in Porto. My husband booked 5 nights here as a birthday treat for me, and we were lucky enough to stay in the Royal Suite in the tower part of the hotel. The room was very lovely- clean, stylish and full of character and charm. With windows looking over both the gardens and the city we loved gazing out at the views. The location is perfect being 5 minutes away from an efficient Metro station or a pleasant 25 minute stroll down into the centre. We found the breakfast delicious, and all the more enjoyable served in a pretty elegant room. Best of all, the staff, from the truely helpful reception guys who were happy to suggest places to eat to the cleaning team and the breakfast helpers and even the little cat Camila, were all SUPERB. They are the main reason that we would go back in a heartbeat! Thank-you all for making our stay amazing.…
Very stylish interiors. Rooms nice and clean. In ours kettle didn't work. Breakfast ok. Interesting place to see really. Bit pricey. We had cheaper Radisson in Lisbon. All in all it was quite ok. Good location.
We stayed for 4 nights - the start of our tour of Portugal. It is a mix of tradition & modern. We were in room 203, a large modern room which led out to the garden where we spent most evenings relaxing & enjoying a drink (before it got too cold). Breakfast is in the main building - in an ornate dining frequented by the resident cat! A good range of buffet foods set us up for the day. Be wary it is at the top of town - great to walk down but it a pull to get up - although we managed by stopping in for a drink here and there! If I had a criticism it was that there was not enough coffee left in the room - we went back one afternoon - used the sachets there but were too late to get anymore so no wake me up drink in the morning! Parking available at the hotel although spaces would be tight if hotel was full. All in all though a lovely place - friendly staff & spotlessly clean.…
