The Se Catedral Hotel was one of three hotels I stayed at in Porto, and arguably the best. Rates are usually affordable, and since I booked with combined points and money, the value I obtained from my one-night stay was unbeatable. The location is impeccably central (i.e. next door) to the cathedral (hence the name Se Catedral!), as well as within walking distance to the riverfront and other sights. The lobby felt fresh, colorful, youthful, and contemporary, while still incorporating the historic setting of the city in many aspects. I loved the atmosphere.
The service was spot-on. I had some credit card troubles at the end of the stay, and everyone involved was as patient as could be. The staff were more than happy to store my heavy backpack in the storage room and assist with other needs. At breakfast, many employees were in eyeshot to help me with serving myself from the buffet (free for HHonors elite members). Perhaps the service is the best of any hotel in Porto!
The rooms pleasantly shocked me. They were compact, but that didn’t necessarily mean cramped. They had everything necessary for a comfortable, relaxing time, including ample charging ports. A nice touch was the inclusion of authentic Portuguese custard tarts awaiting me on the bedside table—how amazing! As I had requested an interior-facing room, any noise from the city wasn’t detectable. Soundproofing between rooms seemed to be above adequate.
I was in Porto for the sake of trying to return home to the states, but next time I visit for actual tourism, I will be sure to book here. Highly recommended!

This is a fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff that go the extra mile to assist. Front desk were knowledgeable, recommending some great restaurants and making table reservations for us. Rigerio particularly stood out as being a credit to the hotel. He was warm, friendly and a great help. The restaurant staff were polite and warmly greeted us daily. The buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of options to choose from. It was useful to have drinking water replaced daily in the room, as well as available on tap in the lobby area. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and we had a great view from the window. I highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Artsy, heavily themed to be chic and playful, this hotel is easy to like due to its wonderful location adjacent to the Cathedral on a prominent hill in Porto. Many things are nearby for the tourist to enjoy. The lobby area sports a nice restaurant/bar/gathering spot, which features a useful menu and very reasonable prices to make staying here an easy choice. Our room was very functional, if a bit narrow and dark. Finding adequate light was a challenge, and the flooring is a plastic woven mat/flat carpet akin to popular woven placemats. The surface is noisy under bare feet, and a bit sticky, although not from being unclean. The room was, in fact, very clean and fresh. Rainfall showerhead got the job done. I would have appreciated having a wash cloth, which was not provided. That's a very small ding compared to a great place to stay with sterling amenities and a great location. I would stay here again for the location, room square footage, restaurant and staff.

This kitchi, delightful hotel opened in March, 2022. While it's a Hilton, it was designed by someone with a creative whimsical mind to constantly delight the observer while providing a comfortable oasis after sightseeing. The young team members here go above and beyond to help you with dinner reservations, sightseeing tours, and whatever else you need. The rooms - I had a premium king with a city view - continue the whimsey but feature comfortable bedding, huge pillows, and a spacious bathroom with a walk in shower. The only thing missing was a full length mirror which really surprised me. You can choose a king bed, queen bed or two twins. The flooring is a hypoallergenic solid vinyl material which is the first I've seen in a hotel room. Try and get breakfast included as it's superb offering options such as eggs benedict, a honeycomb (yes, seriously), cappuccino, bakery goods, cheeses and more. The location is near pretty much everything as well as a metro station and the main train station. Two tour company offices are also right here. There is a full restaurant on premises, a bar, lounge area and a fooz ball game for those inclined. This clean, moderately priced hotel is a gem but book early as we traveled in mid-September and it was full.

The level of customer service blew us away! Guest Relations Manager Rogerio and his team made it possible for us to watch the Super Bowl game. It aired at midnight but they made arrangements to leave the game on for us in the bar after all the employees had left. Still can’t believe they went out of their way to make sure we were able to watch the game!!! Oh! And they remembered my husband’s birthday and sent us a bottle of sparkling wine and tiramisu with a handwritten note!
We had a fabulous 4 night stay in a modern hotel in very convenient location, with the best and prettiest breakfast buffet we had during our 3 week Portugal tour (actually, the best hotel breakfast buffet we’ve ever experienced) and a spacious room with a shower with terrific water pressure. But the reason why we would return to this hotel is because of Rogerio.
Obrigadah Rogerio! You made our visit to Porto memorable!

The Sé Catedral, can only be a 5 star review... The staff were very attentive, polite and could not do enough. There were a couple of issues, which were sorted... The hotel is bang on trend, clean, and very welcoming. I stay a lot of hotels each year, and this short stay has been one of the most enjoyable. The rooms are new and of a good size, with the beds affording a good night's sleep. The below ground rooms do suffer some residuel smell when a hot day, but the hotel takes measures. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic, so much so we ate every lunch at the hotel, due to the great location to most attractions.
In short, you really could not do better, great location, staff, food and price which will surely make any visit a good one. I highly recommend, and will stay again!

I stayed six nights at this Hilton. The hotel was fabulous. The room was spotless, colorful and filled with interesting art, including a horse as seen in the photos. Every single member of the hotel staff was uncommonly courteous and very helpful. On my first day of sightseeing I asked the gentleman at the front desk for a few suggestions about what to see in the area. He provided detailed information about every key attraction in Porto! I also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and it was delicious. Again, the staff was key to making my experience so pleasant. Thank you, Se Catedral Hotel, for making my stay in Porto so special!

Check in (and check out) was straightforward. The superior guest room was quite compact with little room to eat or put a laptop (if required). Massive tv with a few English channels (but no English news channel).
Bathroom was spacious with a double length shower cubicle. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash ,hand wash and body lotion were provided and all of reasonable quality. Shower was nice and powerful.
Wifi good with coffee maker provided (2 pods upon arrival but got more as required). As noted by previous reviewers, bring your own kettle if you want to boil water for tea. The air conditioning was effective and quiet. The cups provided were very small (european size for coffee), so bring your own larger mug if you want a decent cup of tea/coffee. Fridge and safe provided in the room.
There was a balcony but the weather did not allow sitting outside at any point. Unfortunately the view from our room was mainly of a roof.
All in all a decent stay. Fairly expensive, but it was very central (next to the cathedral). They helped us book a Douro day tour which I highly recommend (there are numerous tour companies around the Hotel too) and also made several recommendations for places to visit.
The negatives : * All the bedroom doors slam shut hard and loud - one time we had our heads against the headboard and it jolted our heads forward.... * The bathroom door is a sliding one, which is good for saving space, but there was a large gap at the bedroom door end. This meant that if you needed to open the bedroom door for anyone, they could see straight at anyone who might be sitting on the toilet....
Breakfast was okay, with a good range of hot and cold dishes. The room service menu was limited, but there are lots of eateries nearby.
All in all a decent stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Just spent 6 nights at this hotel. We've never stayed at a Hilton tapestry hotel before, however I can tell you, it definitely delivered the Hilton brand.
Our room was overlooking the cathedral which was spectacular.
The hotel couldn't be more centrally located, and was only a 2 minute walk from the San Bento metro station (use the historic exit).
The team at the hotel couldn't do anymore to make you feel welcome.
Roger and his reception team were just fantastic, all were very informative, helpful and jolly. The fruit plate was a lovely touch, thank you.
The room was fully equipped, clean and comfortable, just what you come to expect from a Hilton hotel. Our extra pillow request was executed without hesitation
The restaurant team were very attentive, we only had breakfast but there was plenty of choice, all food stations were cleaned and topped up regularly. Loved the pumpkin jam, really tasty!

The hotel is very well located within a short walking distance to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, transportation,the Se Cathedral, Douro River and the Dom Luis I Bridge. Yet the location is such that you are not subject to the noise of nearby restaurants and nightlife. The property is quite new, the rooms were very nice with great showers and comfortable beds. What really stood out was the excellence of the hotel staff. They were very friendly, accommodating and professional. I especially want to compliment Roger, the Guest Experiences Manager who was so very helpful in providing us with great restaurant recommendations, sightseeing suggestions and quality personal attention.

They have an arrangement for a reduced rate down at the bottom of the hill. It can be a hike with luggage so drop your luggage at the hotel before you park. Wonderful hotel with great staff.
