According to guest feedback, NEYA Porto Hotel stands out for its tranquil and stylish ambiance, with spacious and pristine rooms that boast scenic views. The rooftop bar, diverse breakfast options, and commendable service add to the hotel's charm, though some guests feel there's room for improvement in staff responsiveness.
While the riverside location is a hit for its picturesque surroundings and proximity to attractions, the value perception is varied, with some concerns over additional costs. Overall, the hotel's cleanliness and amenities garner positive remarks.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel is perfectly situated in a quiet location on the banks of the River Douro. The welcome we received was warm and the receptionist could not have been more helpful in providing details about the bus and tram system and the best way into town (15 minute walk and 5 minutes by bus or tram which stops outside the hotel). In fact, all staff were very friendly and professional.
Although the hotel is new, it has been sympathetically designed to incorporate some of the original building once on the site. Our riverside room (see photo of view) was roomy, clean and comfortable and we kept discovering different parts of the hotel. The eco/green philosophy of the hotel was also welcome.
We had fun in the rooftop Ultimo bar where we enjoyed listening to the singer/DJ who appears every Friday night. Dinner in the restaurant was also fabulous - the octopus (see photo) and the guinea fowl were gorgeous.
Highly recommend 👌

First of all I must say that Neya Porto is a new hotel and everything looks impeccable on the outside as on the inside, the part from the street with the rooms, restaurant and reception and many other facilities are new. But they also have an old part, the Cloister, that used to be a church back in the days. They took care of that space and it is now a gorgeous terrace that the guests can use to relax and enjoy a good drink.
I loved the breakfast that was delicious and the staff always ready to give advice and recommendations, but the dinner was even better. They have some traditional Portuguese recipes, reinvented and fusioned with modern cuisine. Our room was super large with a nice bathroom, a view to the Duoro river and that living room/desk office upstairs. The rooftop bar had also a great view to the city and the river and such a cool design on the bar area.
All in all, even though we’ve had some rainy days during the stay, that didn’t bother me, because we’ve had time to relax and enjoy the hotel to the max and I totally recommend Neya Hotels while in Porto.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This hotel is a very attractive conversion of an older religious building, but it is a bit soulless with most of the staff being quite sullen – definitely on the front desk and a lot of the time at breakfast. They are very proud of their environmental credentials and having a LEED certificate for the building work, but could do with concentrating a bit more effort on customer service and teaching their staff on the front desk how to smile. Room was pleasant enough with a comfortable bed and it was good to be able to open the window rather than have the air-conditioning on. For such a modern building they still managed to provide a shower with no lighting. The location overlooking the river is great, especially the view from the rooftop bar and having the tram trundle by the front door is exciting.

From the check in to the check out this place exceeded expectations. We chose a room with a balcony facing the river, and the view was incredible. Also fun was seeing the train run its route underneath us. Even with the road traffic, the room was very quiet. The bed and a/c were perfect and the room amenities great. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious and the space never felt too crowded or rushed. We chose to park across the street instead of the garage, saving 20 euros per night. It was easy to feed the meter a bit, and weekend parking there is free, a bonus for us, as most of our stay was on the weekend. The location of the hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants, shops and other beautiful views.

Opened 2 years ago, but covid meant it has really only been functioning in the past twelve months. As modern hotels go, it is very smart and rooms are generous with what appear to be wooden floors in the bathroom with a SHOWER CURTAIN no less! Terrific bedding and linen. Check out the on site restaurant too.

The hotel is in a good location, about a 15 minute flat walk to Porto centre is the waterfront by the main bridge. I t is clean and modern. We paid extra for a room with a balcony which was nice. The roof top bar was a great place to enjoy a pre / post dinner drink. We were disappointed with the breakfast as all the ‘hot’ food was tepid as it was in uncovered containers. Also on returning to our room after 3pm our room had not yet been cleaned. We asked especially the next morning to have our room cleaned before 3pm, so would recommend doing that.

The situation of the hotel is good. Views over the river and when you have a room in the front lovely views on the river and the other site of Porto.
Before the hotel was a monastery and they build it very nice to a hotel. Inside there is a sort of garden with nice seats and overlooking some walls of the monastery.
The rooms are good. Nice beds.
At the balcony where no chairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you can not sit on it. We ask for chairs but that was not possible.
The shower is hot or not 🥵. Difficult to do. But when you notice that good to wash.
The breakfast is very good. The waitress doesn’t understand you all the time so it can be difficult to ask for a hot boiled egg. The coffee machine is often out of order so that you must wait a long time at the other one.
The reception is 24 hours. They are kind but not interested. When you ask for something on the room it can be that they forget or They don’t know.

The hotel is really nice situated in a central location. It matches new design, embedded into old walls in a stylish yard. The vibe is really special. It has a classy groundfloor restaurant and a rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the river.
Rooms are spacious, cosy and very clean. Some small details could be improved, like a shower door scratching against the floor, or a funny smell coming out of the overhead unit. But generally, very well designed and maintained. We also got a stunning balcony!
Fire doors need some attention in the staircase as without door stoppers, they slam incredibly strong. Could be a health and safety issue, but certainly a very loud noise.
The restaurant serves really good food and has a nice selection of wines.
My only complaint was no ironing board in the room :) as a result we requested for my shirts to be ironed for "tonight" on the same day, specifically stating they do not need to be washed. When our anniversary dinner came, we were told the shirts would be ready at the end of the day, obviously too late as we had to leave. When raising this, the lady who I believe managed the staff (so sorry I forgot the name!!), went above and beyond and made sure we get it on time. She saved the night, which we are very grateful for!
I can really recommend the hotel, a great place to stay in Porto. Could be a bit cheaper I guess :)!

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the rooftop views with our complimentary welcome drink.
The room we stayed in was very comfortable and not too small for both of us. Amenities were modern but lacking in the usual shower cap, beauty kit, etc. It would have been nice for a surface to put shampoo/conditioner in the shower.
It was my husband’s birthday and they left us a very delicious surprise and port, of course! It was a very nice idea and we both enjoyed it!
Breakfast is good and there’s a very large variety of food on offer to set us up for the days. The restaurant is huge and has terrific views of the river.
It may just have been our room, but on weekend mornings, the thumping of the club next door can be felt and heard, and drunk kids are pouring out of it at around 10am.
Other than that, a very nice stay and would recommend.

I would give this hotel a five star had it not been for one incident. We were part of a tour for the first two nights, then extended our stay for two additional nights. A month prior to arriving, I requested that I not have a room change between the two reservations. I received an email assuring me that I would remain in the same room. The morning after the tour ended, the front desk staff informed me that I had to check out by noon, check back in and change rooms or pay an additional 40E per night. The desk staff stated that they would not honor the email because it was from Lisbon and the hotel was in Porto.. Totally, totally unprofessional.
