The hotel is central yet quiet. All staff are friendly and keen to make your stay a good one. The decor and lighting are chic and relaxing. Rooms are spacious, smart and clean, with an excellent shower and clean towels every day. There is no noise to be heard from other rooms - very peaceful at night.
Breakfast includes a wide range of cereals, fruit, pastries, delicious breads and cooked options.
The bar area is a really comfortable space in which to 'chill out'.
Just one small point for improvement - the wardrobes are fine, but it would be useful to have more hooks on which to hang damp towels or coats and a drawer in which to place small items of clothing.
Breakfast includes a wide range of cereals, fruit, pastries, delicious breads and cooked options.

The staff in the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful. For them alone I would go back there. the hotel is renovated, stylish, clean, and very central positioned. I liked everything about it really, and the attention to our desires was also noted in that we got a room facing away from the street so that it was quieter and we could sleep well. One small thing that makes it that it's not excellent but just very good and that, I am sorry to say, is the acoustic insulation between the room and the bathroom area. When I say acoustic insulation it means that in this case, it was nonexistent. I understand our fellow architects/interior designers wanted to have a glass wall between the toilet and the rest of the room because it looks modern and stylish, but there are just some things that people like to do private, and milky glass stops neither odor nor sound passing through. Yes, I am picky, but because the hotel has such high standards I can be picky.

This hotel is in a great location. The staff are absolutely wonderful. The food (I only had breakfast there) was fantastic. The hotel is clean and the room is clean, comfortable and everything is in good working order. Lots of outlets by the bed and at the desk. Quiet HVAC. Lots of lighting. On top of all that - the windows facing the busy street must have been sound-proofed because I could barely hear any sound on a Saturday night. Also the rooms are beautiful and the fixtures are a bit classy and maybe even a bit luxurious. The body wash, shampoo, lotion are quite spa-like and smelled lovely. So I felt the hotel was a bit "extra" in a great way. I would return in an instant.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Room (Tribune) was as described and pictured, complete with coffee maker and bathrobes. Spacious closet and plenty of storage space. Split bath with bidet, complete with Rituals amenities. Guest Service Team were amazing. They were helpful with local recommendations, readily accessible/responsive by What's App. At mid stay, hotel formally sought feedback (email and call to the room) on how to improve our hotel experience. While did not partake, the breakfast buffet style had a huge selection. Centrally located, a short walk away from public transit, many restaurants, attractions. Hotel suggested Fado show/dinner - be forewarned - the performers & music were amazing but the food was subpar & the aged porto wine & house wine were so awful that they were undrinkable.

The restaurant is nice, the breakfast is nice, the decor, etc. is very nice. But the room makes no sense. The bathroom, toilet and shower, have no doors other than sliding glass doors that do not shut all of the way. So it is fine if traveling alone but why would you want to go to the bathroom without a fully closed door to separate you from your spouse or partner? And the sliding doors are very loud if one gets up in the middle of the night

Porto Bay Teathre has a very central position, practically the vast majority of the city's attractions are within walking distance. The room, spacious, is maintained daily by exemplary cleanliness. The hotel staff is admirable for their hospitality, willingness to solve customer requests, relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. The breakfast should be noted, generous, varied, exceeding the requested value (10 euros)

A very centrally located hotel with high quality and standard on rooms and hotel facilities, which made my one-week stay very enjoyable and left me very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is very near many public transport options and most of downtown is within short walking distance. Modern rooms of high standard with excellent in-room facilities, and a very helpful staff who would gladly assist me when I had queries and also helped me out in recommending various venues and helped me in booking restaurants.

It was my third trip to Porto but the first time for my partner and I wanted to stay somewhere nice. PortoBay Hotel Teatro was more than nice it was superb. All the staff are incredible, they are so polite, helpful and always full of smiles. They operate on a 'nothing is too much trouble' basis and the young waiting staff in the restaurant were delightful. When unprompted they found out that we were there to celebrate our birthdays on consecutive days, not only did they produce a glass of sparkling wine for us at breakfast they even left a bottle in our room on both days with some cake!! The hotel is very clean and the bedrooms very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is in a great location and only 10 minutes from the waterfront and if you want to be treated well and with respect then this is the hotel for you. So in my opinion ignore any one, two or three star ratings and just concentrate on reading the four and five star ratings as these are the genuine ones!!!

I´m sure that there are different rooms in the hotel, Our experience is based on our Audience-room. It had a bath-room with a sliding door but to our surprise there was also a cast iron bathtub, which was placed in the bay of the room. The bathtub was ready for use without any vision protection.
I don’t believe so. However walking up and down the hills is exercise enough. Enjoy.
No, there was no iron in my room. Nor was it mentioned among the appliances mentioned in the offer. I'm sure the so kind people at the front desk could get me one though, but I've never feel the need to iron my clothes on trips after unpacking
Breakfast was served 6:30-10. It was not too crowded, and the buffet selection was relatively wide with fresh fruit, hot items, a variety of breads, cold cuts, cheeses and sweet bakery items etc. Hot drinks were brought to the table. See my review for details.
I am a bit claustrophobic.... Managed ok over the 5day stay , corridors a bit befuddling initially but the Mr has a good sense of direction so I was ok ! It's actually quite restful and calming after a day exploring in the sun . It's certainly a bit different . GIve it a go .
