If I had read the reviews on this site before booking I would never have booked this hotel. The staff were lovely but the guest house was seedy and living in some sort of past glory. Electrics dodgy, nowhere to hang clothes, hairs on the floor and in the bathroom, skirting boards rotten. What really concerned me was the lack...

Room was large and clean, bed comfortable, fridge and small kitchenette. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Breakfast was basic but more then enough. Atmosphere had an Indian flair and was cosy. Here is the but.... There is a disco just up from the guest house and from our room we were disturbed several times a night with the noise....

I was a bit concerned, having read several reviews but having stayed in riads, in Marrakech, I knew what to expect and was not surprised. Its everything the brochure said it was. My room was clean and spacious and the bed made daily. I had a private bathroom separated by a few steps and a key for sole use.One small...

Before I start, let me first say that I've been travelling for 2 months and have stayed in over 15 places in 3 countries. This is so you know that I do have some experience in rating a guesthouse. We were first very happy that the bus let us off right in front of the building than a young man...

A Very cool a laid back guest house to stay, very nice people. Very clean and cosy. Breakfast is basic but enough and we have a very nice pateo to aet it in! The location is also very good, quite near to the town center. And fairly close to the subway station of Marques.

I was there with my boyfriend in July, very shortly and we would not come back there again. Not even for one night. Main reason is due to lack of cleanliness. Not only that on the bedsheets were hair, it was on the floor and the bathroom too. Not to mention dust. The cover on the bed looked also dirty and...

A good surprise from the beginning: I had booked a bed in a 6 bed dormroom and I got a single bedroom for the same price, and the room was really nice. They also offered me to have breakfast on my arrival even though I was a bit past the end time. I really liked the Arabic atmosphere with tapestries...

Me and my girlfriend, stayed one hour. :) Hygiene was not up to par. Which is a critical success factor even for economical based end rooms. At first we thought it was weird to be lead to the basement, by the owner, but then it got weirder, we had a fitness equipment in the room. Why?!? Then hair in the...

I spent 2 nights at Porto Riad Guesthose and I could not wait to leave. Very nice oriental decorations and stuff, but dirty. My room had this very funny smell that I have no idea where it came from, but it persisted. The window was so old that one rainy day when I arrived there was a little pool of...

Porto riad is a very nice guesthouse. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was very nice. The outdoor area was very cosy. The guesthouse is very close to downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

“Rooms in floor -1 (piso -1) are amazing, hot (in portuguese winter is difficult to find such a good temperature) and relaxing. When I will come back in Porto I will ask for one of them.”

“When you check in, if the receptionist does not take you upstairs, but goes through the dining room and the small notorious white doors to the right - scream bloody murder immediately, you DO NOT WANT to be placed in a basement room. I suggest making a note when booking the room that you have health issues, like asthma or something pulmonary, and you need to be in a dry ventilated room.”
