This was our second visit to Guest House Gran Cruz and we were not disappointed. Rooms are spotless with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is amazing. Everything is fresh. I highly recommend the apple pancakes. The Chef cooks them to order.   We are foodies and usually visit all the top restaurants in Porto. We were more restricted this visit due to Covid but the hotel Chefs stepped up to the challenge and served us several lunches and dinners which were excellent. The food was delicious and very creative. The waiters were charming and  knowledgeable about the wines and ports of the region.  We felt part of a family. Everyone including the reception staff could not have been friendlier. If you visit Porto and do not stay in this hotel you are missing something really special.

What a great find. Small boutique hotel in the heart of Ribeira. Fantastic views from the rooms of the Douro river, the bridge and the entertainers in the square below. Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and delicious, and we ate in the restaurant one evening and it was one of the best meals we had. We were on the 5th floor and we could hear the singers and entertainment in the square, well into the night, but for us that was absolutely part of the charm, and the seagulls were as noisy! Would absolutely recommend this wonderful hotel and would certainly return there.

We stayed here on our first visit to Porto and loved it. It’s in a super location right on the river and we had superb views from our bedroom. Beautiful decor which had a real designer feel about it with a very large super comfy bed. The breakfast is lovely and the best thing about it is that it’s table service all the way. It was so refreshing not having to do the usual battle around the buffet tables. Special mention must go to Isabel on reception who was super friendly & made our stay even more special. The bottle of Port in our room was a nice touch. We would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband found this little Boutique Hotel which we were both pleasantly surprised with. Outstanding service & extremely friendly. No road access after 11am so is a little tricky to get to with lots of suitcases as the Taxi drops you up the street and you have to walk down carrying or wheeling all your Bags. On this trip we had 6x Bags between 2 of us, 2x Large suitcases two carry on bags and two backpacks!! Was a wee challenge but we managed. Made it all worth it once we found the Hotel and was greeted by a friendly Man who sat us down and gave us a Port to drink while he checked us in and explained the Hotel to us. Loved our room it was super lovely and comfortable, it almost felt like you were on a boat. Great town and river views from our windows. We had the “White” room on level 6. All the rooms are named after Ports! You are also given a free Bottle of Port in your Room which was special. I would absolutely recommend this Hotel.
