The only good thing about this place is the view, breakfast was impossible due to overcrowding in the dining room and invisible staff! Locally there are nice cafes and restaurants, a taxi to Porto centre is about €10 for 2 people. Porto is wonderful with endless things to see and do. The Brasil esplanade is beautiful lined with beaches and... More

Strange place for a hotel, the hotel is on the 2 top floors of an block of flats. When you find it, it is a charming little place. Nice big room, ok beds, ok breakfast, fantastic location right by the beach, great, helpfull people working there. Great price

We enjoyed our short stay. Very friendly staff and a good night's sleep means I would highly recommended it. Easy walk to nice restaurants and the sea front. Had a car, but no problem finding parking on the road outside. Yes it is a 2 star, no more, but for value and location, it's worth a stay.

While my title may suggest I'm not happy with my accommodation, while staying for a week long conference, this is not necessarily the case. The place has a very authentic Portuguese feel to both in layout and decor. My room is spacious with a sea view from its balcony, just. The staff are friendly and helpful but the facilities are... Rooms big enough but no air condition. Bathroom clean but really need to be renovated. Old style finish or maybe just old. Sometimes specially at stairs smells mold - I'm allergic so it was really hard for me to go thru it. Breakfast and bar really nice and Wi-Fi only there. We couldn't reach it at the room. Hotel situated... More

Having travelled around the Iberian Peninsular in April and May we found that the hotel was a little overpriced. The facilities were ok, if a little oldfashioned, the breakfast fine and rtthe staff friendly. Beware: parking in the street is at a premium.

Excellent for the price. We paid 60€ for 3 peoples, including the breakfast which is ok. The help from the receptionist is nice too, great tips and very friendly. The place is very quiet and close to the bus 500 and the Praia dos ingleses. This beach is cute and without thousands of tourist.

If you want soulless and ultra midern, this is not for you. Portofoz is a friendly, traditional hotel, away from the city centre, just a couple of hundred yards from the sea. Beautiful sea views. Very relaxing. Friendly staff. George is really helpful and has a great local knowledge. This is a real gem of a hotel, don't miss it.

This is my third trip to Porto and my first time staying at Portofoz Residencial, a family owned and operated 2-floor hotel. The biggest selling point is its proximity to and view of the ocean, one block away. The sea makes even a small room feel global. The first two floors of the building are occupied by commercial tenants of... More

“Room 29 has two twin beds, a traditional TV (no flat screen) and a small balcony with an ocean view. I don't think there are any rooms that do not overlook the ocean but, if there are, I would not be as happy in them. The ocean compensates for the lack of bells and whistles.”
