Residence build as an hotel in the 60". The residence occupy 2 floors of a residential building. Portofoz is located on the sea side about 25 mns from the center of Porto by bus. Bus stop located at 5 minutess from the hotel. The bus passes by every 10 mns. Our room had a balcony and a sea view. It feels like a throw back in the time in a very authentic way. Our room was decorated with very good pieces of antiques and our sheets were embroidered. The place was spotless. The bathroom was completely tiled and working efficiently. The breakfast was good and served in a tiny living room facing the sea. There are a lot of local restaurant and cafes nearby. We loved every bit of our stay. We would recommend this hotel to travelers who look for a non main stream experience and can appreciate the charming side of this place.…
Hotel located about 3 minutes to ocean side close to good cafes, restaurants. To the center of Porto and main atractions like Dom Louis I Bridge it's about 15-20 minutes by bus but the bus stop it is almost next to the hotel and easy to find. Rooms are spaciousy and clean, traditionally arranged with classical furnitures. Bathrooms are clean but need to be renovated - in our room shower was broken and leaked. Personel was very cherful and helpful. It's possible to talking in english with them.
The only good thing about this place is the view, breakfast was impossible due to overcrowding in the dining room and invisible staff! Locally there are nice cafes and restaurants, a taxi to Porto centre is about €10 for 2 people. Porto is wonderful with endless things to see and do. The Brasil esplanade is beautiful lined with beaches and bars. We will return
Strange place for a hotel, the hotel is on the 2 top floors of an block of flats. When you find it, it is a charming little place. Nice big room, ok beds, ok breakfast, fantastic location right by the beach, great, helpfull people working there. Great price
We enjoyed our short stay. Very friendly staff and a good night's sleep means I would highly recommended it. Easy walk to nice restaurants and the sea front. Had a car, but no problem finding parking on the road outside. Yes it is a 2 star, no more, but for value and location, it's worth a stay.
"Room 29 has two twin beds, a traditional TV (no flat screen) and a small balcony with an ocean view. I don't think there are any rooms that do not overlook the ocean but, if there are, I would not be as happy in them. The ocean compensates for the lack of bells and whistles."Read full review
