Nestled in the vibrant Ribeira district, The Editory House Ribeira Porto Hotel has won favor with guests for its prime location close to key attractions and dining options, although it comes with a caveat of potential noise. Detailed Reviews
The hotel was close to the river and perfectly situated for exploring the city. We were impressed with the ambience, quietness, cleanliness and design. We appreciated various touches such as a glass of port offered as we checked in, a bottle of water in the room each day,. The outstanding feature was the friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Responses to inquiries about transport, visits etc were accurate and they were concerned that we would enjoy our stay in a genuine way. In addition we asked for a corkscrew and a member of staff came to our room immediately and opened our own bottle. We left a ring and they notified us immediately, inquired costs of courier or by post to our home in England and sent it by post at our request (it arrived in a few days). We highly recommend this hotel.

The staff and the breakfast were the absolute high points of my stay at The House hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast included, amongst other things, a lovely spread of delicious Portugal pastries and even a chocolate fountain. The welcoming glass of port and pastel de nata were a very nice touch. The room was nice, it had good air conditioning and a very nice mattress and pillows. I usually don't sleep this well in hotels, so that's a big plus.
As for the negatives, the coffee at breakfast was quite bad, I would suggest that coffee machine be replaced with Dolce Gusto Nescafe machines available in every room. In the room the see-through (bottom and top) glass door for the toilet was a bit weird, even for a single room.
Overall it was a lovely experience staying at The House and despite a few minor flaws, I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Excellent staff- genuinely came across as interested in ensuring we had a good stay- including complimentary titbits, immediate correction if anything was pointed out to them, and guidance as to where to go, what to see and how to get around. Delicious breakfast with a variety of local bakery items to augment a complete offering and a perfect location.
We were delighted we stayed in this hotel.

We were welcomed by the wonderful greetings of Marcella. This entailed for us to enjoy 3 glasses of Port wine with 4 fresh pastel de natas while we awaited the rearrangement of a room for an added bed which was not made a problem at all to resolve. Our room was absolutely meticulous with complimentary water and coffee, with additional snacks and drinks in the mini bar at a cost. The bedding was pristine with fresh towels, robes, slippers to enjoy and new everyday. Our friend who visited us from Madrid was also treated as a hotel guest. Marcella was resourceful in giving us a map and holding our luggage after checkout for as long as we wanted. 10/10 would recommend for anyone staying in Porto. The location was central to everything overlooking the river.

The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They were all extremely helpful and welcoming. When they discovered it was my daughter's birthday, Joâo arranged for a traditional Portuguese birthday cake and 3 classes of port for us to celebrate. The hotel is located a block from the River Douro and we were able to walk to all the main attractions of Porto. The rooms were very modern and spotless. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's staff.

We stayed here for three nights, the staff were amazing and attentive, nothing was too much of an issue. We had an situation with the toilet and within 5 minutes someone had come and sorted out the issue. The staff were able to give suggestions on waking tours and places to eat. The hand held device they give you for the visit was very helpful and useful. Th breakfast was out of this world and it truly felt like home.

I’ve stayed in 6 hotels in and near Porto, and this is by far the best. Friendliest and most helpful desk staff (they deserve 10 stars), the offer of port and a pastel de nata on arrival, best breakfast - especially the pastries and cakes, attractive lobby and eating area, great location, the loan of a phone that can guide you to the city’s attractions and keep you in touch with the front desk, attractive rooms, wonderful pillows, tasty sandwiches if you don’t feel like eating out, attentive cleaning staff, and all around kindness. They were willing to hold a package for me that arrived before I did. Incredibly nice staff.
One thing could be improved: there are much tastier coffee choices in Porto. And be careful about closing the shower door all the way, I had a difficult time opening it from the inside, had to reach up and find a tiny opening at the top and pull from there. All in all, a great stay. Highly recommended.

Lots of good things about this hotel: great location, clean modern rooms, a particularly attentive welcome session with an orientation to the city, and free use of a smartphone with useful apps and suggestions for activities. Taxi stand right outside the front door was another convenient feature. What was disappointing was lack of gluten free options for breakfast and, worse, assurances by night staff that such options would be made available but they weren't. Suggestions for improvement: hooks for bath towels and non-slip material on the shower floor.

I chose this hotel based on its location and it did not disappoint, The hotel is a block away from the river and nearby all tourist attractions. The hotel is modern and vibrant with a young staff that caters to please you all the time. Julia was so helpful and friendly the few days we were there There was also Nuria who couldn't be more helpful. The service staff in the morning were excellent and they were trainees doing an outstanding job during the breakfast hours. Our room was big, very clean and with beautiful windows with a beautiful view at night. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit uncomfortable since the design did not allow for much counter space and it was difficult to accommodate our toiletries. Other than that, the shower was excellent. If you come by car, park at the Alfadenga parking lot, 5 minute walk for the hotel. You can validate your ticket before you leave the parking and can park there for 72 hours for 20 Euros. Excellent deal! We loved our stay in Porto and we loved the "feel like home" feeling of the Editory House.

Great hotel and great location. Staff bent over backwards for you and were very welcoming from first step inside. Accommodations were great, bed comfortable.
1 block from river, close to many great restaurants and across the river (very short walk) from many of the wine ports.
Very reasonably priced
Would highly recommend and stay here again in a second

Been to Porto a few times now and never had a problem with my MasterCard (credit card).
Is it easy to drive and reach the hotel? Is there parking at the hotel or nearby? Wha is the charge?
Dear guest,
Thank you for the preference in The House Ribeira Hotel.
Regarding your request, we inform you that getting to the hotel is easy, considering that it is located in the city center and there may be traffic.
The hotel does not have a private parking.
Although, we have an agreement with a public parking nearby, 110m from the hotel, which makes a price of 23,00€ for our guests for 24H each.
At your check-in time we will be able to explain you where exactly the parking place is.
For any other doubts or requests, please, do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to welcoming you in Porto.
Best Regards,
Jorge Eiras
