Excellent place and very friendly staff. Couldn't do enough for us. For example the Manageress took us for a drive around the town showing us good restaurants, bars, local attractions etc'. Cleanliness was a priority to the staff. Always smiling and courteous. Cant say enough about the place, perfect location for everything. Visit this place and prove me wrong. 5 stars all round
We were placed in a room facing the front on the first floor, but after one nights sleep in which we were too hot, we then decided to sleep with a window open. You have be strong to open the window, lifting a whole sash window up with one hand and then flipping 2 clips out to hold in place, no counter weight to assist, just a whole double glazed unit in one hand. We had to open the window at night as the Aircon only went down to 17°. The area outside is bowl shaped acoustically and we had lots of noise which interrupted my sleep. The beds are separated from the toilet by a glass wall and not only unsightly, when a partner goes to the toilet at night it bathes you in light and wakes you up, if the revellers outside aren't already doing that We did find the beds and pillows really comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean with clean towels and beds made every day. The shower was like being drenched in a rain forest, totally brilliant. If you do visit Guimaraes i highly recommend Bar Danubio for a fantastic steak, bacon and cheese sandwich for €7-8 and they do craft beer. I also recommend the cablecar trip up the mountain as we spent a glorious 2 hours up amongst the boulders on the well marked trails, a real highlight of our visit.…
We can en masse and stayed as an extended family group in a number of rooms. We all really enjoyed the great hospitality and flexibility of the host. The rooms were immaculate and the beds incredibly comfortable. There was also an endless supply of hot water for the numerous showers we took. The rooms are well appointed with compact and stylish bathrooms. The hotel is in a great location for local restaurants and cafes as well as walkable to the castle and other attractions. We had a great time and really appreciated how well we were looked after. Thank you
Good things first. Fantastic location, big clean room. Kind, always ready to help staff. Air conditioning (important in the summer). But here it ends. Reception in remodelação, smell of ink all over. No hanging place for things in the shower. A very nasty alarm that sounded six to ten times over the night making it impossible to sleep. After calling, had to go downstairs and turn the beep off myself. Breakfast served on time, in the room, but with powder juice and soluble coffee (come on... soluble coffee in Portugal???). Not happy at all with my stay and do not find it worthy for the 40 euros it costed.
Stayed in the hotel for one night....good location, about 15 minutes walking distance from the central train station, only a few minutes walking distance from city center. Room was clean, attention quick and very helpful, we had as well a balkony. For a few € extra you can add breakfast to your reservation. Absolutely recommend, would probably stay there again.
