Although a bit of a drive from the castle and old town, it is well worth it. jose, warm and welcoming proprietor, runs this inn, which has been in the same family for generations, with excellence. The lobby/living room, dining room, and bedrooms have an understated elegance. Internet is good. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty with nice variety. Stayed late...

Two nights in an historical paradise. A truly stunning stay in a Casa devoted to the production of great white wines. Individual rooms provide comfort, even in January ! But it is the rooms decorated in antique wallpaper that bewitch. Lovingly restored and eloquently described. Take a tour of these rooms, leading out to a glorious terrace with panoramic views...

We arrived after a long journey from Santiago de Compestela and did well to find the property. The rooms were from another era of the chateau variety , lovely and quaint. A bottle of the vineyard best white wine on the patio really relaxed us and then we had the best dinner ever ( two couples) served in the Casa...

My husband and I chose Casa De Sezim by reading about its opulent charm and also to break our journey from Douro valley to Porto by spending a night a Guimaraes. I have a fascination for houses with character and after seeing and staying in many in Italy and Spain, this manor house held a special fascination for us. This...

This is a delightful museum of a house, with so many memorablia from days gone by. We were able...

We stayed at Casa de Sezim for 4 nights in early September 2015. We had stayed in a couple of Paradors in Spain, but this was something else - a property that has been in the one family for over 700 years, with a working winery/vineyard. The host, Jose, and his team make you feel very welcome. After checking in,...

We wanted to slow down after days of running around and reserved a room for two nights. What a great decision that turned out to be. I felt like we took a step back in time when we arrived. You normally only view properties like this, but to have the chance to spend time in such an environment is magical....
