Ideal location, 5 min walk from bus depot and 5 min to central square in the other direction. Cheap and cheerful, fairly basic hotel. Friendly staff who spoke English. Breakfast was minimal but continetal usually is, compared with British hotels. Also, no safe in the room.
After we parked in the large public car park close to the hotel (special rates for guests) we checked into very clean and comfortable rooms after a complimentary coffee in the lobby. The location is central and the staff friendly and helpful, especially the charming girl on night duty who had lived in Dublin for a year. A quiet hotel, the only nuisance was a rythmic noise at 8 AM which sounded like drumming from the street but which of course is not the fault of the Hotel. Only stayed one night as there were no vacancies on the following day Saturday.
quality of towels very poor - no hand towel very small rooms park was offered but it did not have enough space for our car - small parking area so why offer car parking? we had to park outside and it was raining
Nothing to really write home about. Good for very short stays. Room too small and very cookie cutter. Lacking in basic amenities like a box of tissues and hand towels. These dont cost much. Also not safes or kettle. So basically shower, sleep and go. Service very limited.
It took us forever to find this place (even with GPS). After driving around for some time, we found a parking garage and walked a few blocks to the hotel - only to find out we were in the wrong lot. We had to go all the way back up the hill, drive back down (and circle a few times) until we finally found the correct parking lot. After that, when we exited, we had no idea where we were, ultimately, turning on the GPS on our phones to find the hotel - which, as it turns out was not far. When we were there it looked like a parking lot was going in across the street, but we do not know if that is private or something else. Hopefully, it is hotel parking. Other than that, the hotel had an elevator (bonus). The room was small, but very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious (although it cost extra - it was worth it). It is close enough to the center of the city that you could walk there - although coming back to the hotel we cut through an area that was a little sketchy. There were plenty of restaurants nearby if you are getting dinner. I would recommend it and it probably would have received a 5 star review if I had arrived by public transportation or if it had been slow enough that we could park in front and gone it to find out where to park. Sorry, Ibis.…
