Positive: Very nice location, old and charming. Nice breakfast. Located next to the city center. Very nice view. Swimming pool is very nice, in spite of coldness this time of the year. Employers are sympathic, always asking for your demands. Negative: Covid rules... in spite not being the hotel's fault, believe me, think twice before travelling to Madeira Island, you can wait 36 hours for result and being detained in your room. Wifi.. really? This hotel in plain 21st century, doesn't provide wifi signal in customers rooms, so, you'll only be able to access internet, in certain public areas of the hotel. Need some minor repairs. Parking lot is very small, only 4 places to park your car, however, i can understand, just because, every house in Madeira, doesn't have a lot of space, due to the architectonic of the island. Doesn't have any luxury, it's simple and clean.

This old palace was converted to a Hotel 50 years ago and it seems that very little has been updated since. With stunning views and a short distance from the main areas of Funchal it's in a great location but is in real need of an update. The rooms have no WiFi, no fridge and no air conditioning. The bathrooms are very tired as are the rooms. This of course makes it good value for money, so it takes with one hand and gives with another. The saving grace was Angela who was super attentive and couldn't do enough to make sure we were all comfortable and looked after. If you're happy with outdated decor, squeaky taps, lukewarm coffee and hot sticky nights without AC and want to spend more money in the shops then this is the place for you.

If it wasn’t for the view I would have spat the coffee out. How can anyone warrant charging three euro for a cup of coffee in a sub standard 3* star establishment in Funchal, Madeira. Will not return!

This is an excellent hotel to stay to visit Rome. The location is excellent! The facility is not modern but that is the charm. But the rooms are clean, and comfort, the staff professional and very helpful. Breakfast worth every penny at 10 euros it is a rooftop location with a spectacular view of the city. Franco was able to recommend a restaurant where the food was so good we return another night. It was around the. Orner for the hotel, so not far to walk when you are tired after a long day of touring. Sergei was so helpful with our luggage on the last day. The place is great would highly recommend it to all A’s worth the money
