We are extremely pleased with our stay. The staff are friendly, and accommodating! We enjoyed the aspect of getting to know the staff at the hotel a little bit, you see the same people every day which is very welcoming! The food was fantastic! If we had day trips, the kitchen would prepare a big lunch for us to bring...

This hotel is difficult to find because it's in a very narrlw street. It's well located and it has good parking. The bath is so much little and they don't include the breakfast. Good option to visit the south part of the island.

Just returned from Our first visit to Madeira. Chose to stay at a small hotel rather than one of the larger ones. The hotel staff were very friendly & welcoming. The food, all freshly prepared was good & very reasonably priced. We chose to eat there most evenings. Went elsewhere once & was disapponted with quality & price. It was...

The hotel is good value with a good view over Funchal. The food is freshly cooked and the staff are friendly and helpful. They all speak good English. The only drawback is thta the hotel is some distance from the centre of Funchal up some very steep hills.

When things go wrong as they usually will on any holiday. Paula and the team know how to go above and beyond to make things right for you. If you are looking for a small friendly customer focussed hotel with extremely pleasant dining this is the place.

Absolute value for money. We went half board as there were no self catering facilities and the standard of meals was really good. The staff were first class, spoke excellent English and could not have been more helpful providing suggestions, maps, tips, recommendations, and would book excursions etc. Who needs a rep? The room was on the small side but...

Booked a room here through booking.com, was really good value for the hotel. Pretty central location, 20 minute walk from center Funchal. Really nice outdoor balcony, serving good quality food for the money. Room was simple but functional. Some very friendly and helpful staff, others not as much. Would definitely recommend however, to anyone wanted to get a true feel...

My husband and I stayed at the flame tree for 5 nights from 15th to 20th March. We were both very impressed with the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location (about a 10 minute walk down hill to nearest bars and restaurants), great value for money and very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was basic (no TV,...
