A nice hotel, with a nice pool area and sun patio but is left lacking in certain areas. Antiquated room which was very "Period", but missing the basic's of tea/coffee making facilities. How people can consider it a four star amazes me.
A 'quinta' used to be a traditional house on its own vineyard; those close to Funchal are now small hotels - with a traditional feel, and some traditional furnishings (no vineyard!).
